NOTICE: OPEN BURNING IS IN EFFECT OCTOBER 1ST – NOVEMBER 30TH
-Any burning of landscape wastes shall not commence before 10. am and must be completely extinguished each day by 8pm. As always, it is illegal to burn garbage, paper, sawn wood, demolished components of any structure, tires, or treated wood of any kind. Please be cognizant of wind direction, location of fire concerning structures, dry weather conditions, and direction of smoke travel
Monday, September 25, 2023
- 9:53 AM. The officer assisted with following up on a tip regarding drug use in the 1100 block of G Ave. The Officer searched the area but was unable to locate anyone.
- 6:47 PM. The deputy investigated a report of disorderly conduct at the city park. Parents of the involved children were contacted.
- 11:08 PM. Deputies investigated a report of criminal mischief/disorderly conduct in the 300 block of E Walnut St. The investigation is ongoing.
- 11:17. PM. Deputies were advised of suspicious activity in the 100 block of SE 2nd St. It was determined to be related to the previous criminal mischief call.

- 8:50AM. The officer responded to a lift assist in the 400 block of SE 2nd St.
- 11:39 AM. The officer assisted with a medical call in the 300 block of SW 5th St.
- 2:05 PM. The officer took a report of an assault in the 400 block of SE 2nd St. The investigation is ongoing.
- 2:31 PM. The officer returned a phone call regarding a civil issue in the 900 block of N 1st St.
- 9:23 PM. The officer investigated a report of criminal mischief near W Division St and SW 8th St.
- 10:11 PM. The officer investigated a report of criminal mischief in the 300 block of E Walnut St.
Wednesday, September 27, 2023
- 10:40 AM. Officers and deputies assisted with traffic control for a funeral escort.
- 2:50 PM. The officer assisted the county with a report of an apparent lost pedestrian near J Ave and 216th Dr. The Officer was unable to locate anyone on foot in the area.
- 8:34 PM. The officer investigated a report of fighting in the 400 block of W Cherry St. It was determined to be a verbal dispute only, and the parties separated for the night.
- 9:02 PM. The officer investigated a report of a large group of juveniles near the High School.
- 9:21 PM. The officer responded to a report of disorderly juveniles in the 200 block of SE 2nd St.
Thursday, September 28, 2023
- 8:38 AM. The officer took multiple reports of harassment/threats that had taken place in the 200 block of SE 2nd St the previous night. The investigation is ongoing.
- 11:25 AM. The officer took a report of suspicious individuals in the 400 block of W Elm St. The individuals were gone by the time the officer arrived.
- 12:18 PM. The officer investigated a report of a domestic dispute in the 400 block of W Cherry St. This was a verbal argument only, and the parties had already made arrangements to separate.
- 4:29 PM. The officer arrested 42-year-old Steven Harrod, of Nevada, on an outstanding Story County warrant.
- 6:35 PM. The officer assisted medical personnel with an out-of-control subject in the 100 block of Second St in Beaver.
- 8:46 PM. The officer investigated a criminal mischief complaint in the 300 block of SW 9th St. The investigation is ongoing.
- 9:41 PM. The officer and deputy responded to a report of a domestic dispute in the 500 block of W Elm St. The dispute was verbal only, and the parties separated for the night.

- 12:16 AM. The officer attempted to make contact with three subjects dressed in dark clothing in the 100 block of W Mulberry St. The subjects ran and were unable to be located.
- 7:12 AM. The deputy checked on a suspicious item near the railroad tracks on N 1st St. It was just debris from a car and was subsequently disposed of.
- 10:32 AM. The officer followed up on a nuisance complaint in the 600 block of W Cherry St.
- 7:13 PM. The officer assisted with a gas leak in the 400 block of W Locust St.
