Mission Statement

Ogden, Iowa Parks and Recreation Mission Statement and future plans: The mission of Ogden, Iowa Parks and Recreation - Youth Sports is to provide opportunities for kids age 3 and a half years old to 6th grade to participate, learn and grow within their favorite activities by offering soccer, volleyball, flag football, basketball, softball, baseball and tball. These sports are offered through skills camps, inter-Ogden seasons, and surrounding town leagues. We take pride in keeping registration fees affordable and source sponsorships when needed and offer quality reusable jerseys from season to season allowing families to pass down jerseys to siblings or to friends. We incorporate members of the community (parents, aunts/uncles, grandparents, older siblings) and Middle School and High School teams to help coach, referee, teach skills camps and host open gyms. The goal is to provide young athletes with playing time associated with their skill and grade level with 5th/6th grade league being the most competitive to prepare for the next level of competition. We seek alignment with the Ogden Community School District Athletics by meeting with coaches to learn schemes that they start teaching in Middle School Athletics. Down the road, we want to grow and branch out into other sports (think girls flag football, track, weightlifting, ect) and potentially offer adult recreation leagues (think Pickleball, adult basketball, adult volleyball, slowpitch, adult soccer leagues).
