Police Report 8/7 - 8/13/2023
Monday, August 7, 2023
- 3:02 AM. The deputy conducted a welfare check on a reported suicidal subject in the 100 block of W Maple St. The subject was located and subsequently transported to the Boone County Hospital for an evaluation.
- 2:52 PM. The officer assisted with a vehicle unlock in the 100 block of SW 2nd St.
- 4:23 PM. The deputy returned a phone call regarding a scam. The scammer pretended to be a law enforcement officer with social security and was inquiring about several allegedly open accounts that the reporting party did not have. The reporting party did not give out any financial information, and the deputy let him know that this was indeed a scam.
- 9:52 PM. The deputy investigated a report of an unwanted subject in the 100 block of W. Veterans Dr. The subject in question moved along without incident.

- 11:32 AM. The officer received a request for a welfare check on a subject in the 100 block of E Locust. The officer made contact with the resident and assisted her with a few household tasks.
- 3:17 PM. The officer returned a phone call regarding a civil property issue. The officer made contact with both parties, and the issue appears to be resolved for now.

- 12:54 PM. The officer investigated a report of a child walking on Old Highway 30 near I Ave. The Officer located the child near I Ave and New Highway 30 and helped give him a ride to his residence in the 1200 block of I Ave.
- 2:29 PM. The officer received an extra patrol/house watch request for a citizen who will be out of town.

- 10:25 AM. The officer received an extra patrol/house watch request for a citizen who will be out of town.
- 2:22 PM. The officer investigated a report of a reckless driver who had reportedly been driving recklessly westbound on Highway 30 since the Marshalltown area. The officer made contact with the driver on the on-ramp to Ogden and determined that he was safe to drive.
Friday, August 11, 2023
- 8:34 AM. The officer responded to a complaint of a deceased animal in the 600 block of E Walnut St. The animal was appropriately removed and disposed of.
- 9:44 AM. The officer investigated a report of a reckless motorcycle last seen traveling northbound on H Ave from 340th St. The Officer drove out to the 1600 block of H Ave but did not locate the vehicle.
- 11:35 AM. The officer assisted with traffic control for a funeral procession.
- 3:11 PM. The officer assisted the Boone County Sheriff’s Office with attempting to locate a reported reckless driver traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of 270th St. The Officer was unable to locate the vehicle.
- 4:15 PM. The deputy investigated a report of a domestic dispute in the 500 block of NW 7th St. The Deputy determined that there was no criminal element, and neither party refused to leave, so he advised them that they would need to go through an eviction process since both parties have established residency.
- 7:22 PM. The deputy assisted with a medical call in the 100 block of W Sycamore St.
- 11:59 PM. Complaint of a train stopped and blocking all crossings within the city limits. UPRR was contacted and stated they would have the train moved shortly.

- 3:29 PM. The deputy conducted a welfare check in the 200 block of W Veterans Dr. The subject was found to be fine.
Sunday, August 13, 2023
- 2:39 AM. The deputy responded to a bat complaint in the 300 block of W Mulberry St. The deputy was unable to locate the pest for removal.
- 3:51 PM. The deputy assisted with a medical call in the 300 block of SW 6th St.
- 4:23 PM. Deputy investigated a report of a dog bite that had occurred in the 700 block of W Sycamore St. The investigation is ongoing
