Police Report 7/7-7/13/2025
Monday, July 7, 2025
- 9:17 AM. Officer took a report of a concrete truck driving the wrong way on Highway 30. This was determined to be a vehicle working on the highway construction project, traveling on the section of highway that is closed off.
- 11:11 AM. Officer took a burning complaint in the 300 block of E Sycamore St. The person in question was burning wood in a fire pit. There were several piles of branches in the yard, and it was explained that the recreational fire exemption to the burning ordinance wasn’t an excuse to burn brush all year long.
-11:18 AM. Officer followed up on a nuisance complaint of overgrown grass/weeds in the 500 block of N 1st St.
- 1:13 PM. Officer returned a phone call regarding a civil property dispute in the 600 block of W Division St.
- 7:17 PM. Deputy responded to check on an individual experiencing a mental health issue in the 200 block of SE 2nd St.
- 7:59 PM. Dispatch took a report of a lost dog located in the 300 block of SW 9th St. The Boone Area Humane Society was contacted to pick up the dog. Later that night the owner called in to claim the dog. The owner was able to retrieve the dog the following morning from the Humane Society.

Wednesday, July 9, 2025
- 5:43 AM. Deputy responded to a report of a truck traveling westbound in the eastbound lane of the Highway 30 on ramp. This was believed to be a worker for the Highway 30 construction project.
- 8:31 AM. Officer returned a phone call to an individual who had located a 12-inch auger on the off ramp on July 7, 2025. He was returning to the area later in the day and wanted to drop it off in case someone reported it as missing.
- 11:25 AM. Officer assisted a subject having issues with a laptop computer in the 200 block of SE 2nd St. The officer was unable to assist and recommended a family member take him to Best Buy in Ames.
- 11:27 AM. Officer returned a phone call regarding a civil property dispute. The caller was advised to contact an attorney for legal advice.
- 11:50 AM. Officer followed up on a complaint of grass in the street in the 300 block of SW 5th St. The homeowner was contacted and informed that all grass clippings need to be blown into the yard.
- 2:29 PM. Officer notified homeowners of a nuisance complaint in the 200 block of NE 3rd St regarding overgrown limbs blocking the sidewalk and line of sight of the roadway.
- 3:54 PM. Officer left a notice regarding a nuisance complaint at the intersection of S 1st and Division St regarding overgrown plants blocking the line of sight.
- 10:03 PM. Deputy responded to a report of a possibly intoxicated driver at the gas pumps at Casey's. The vehicle in question had left prior to the deputy’s arrival and was found parked and unoccupied at the address it was registered.

- 12:59 AM. Deputy responded to a report of dog barking in the 300 block of E Walnut St. The complainant stated that the dogs had been barking for the past half hour. The deputy responded within 5 minutes and sat in the area for an additional 15 minutes but did not hear any dogs barking.
- 9:18 AM. Officer delivered a nuisance abatement notification in the 400 block of N 1st St regarding overgrown tree limbs blocking the line of sight.
- 9:21 AM. Officer delivered a nuisance abatement notification in the 100 block of W Sycamore St regarding plants along the roadway blocking the line of sight.
Friday, July 11, 2025
- 11:59 AM. Officer responded to ACCURA Healthcare regarding a report of theft. The property had been located by staff prior to the officer’s arrival.
- 2:03 PM. Officer assisted the Boone County Sheriff’s Office with a report of a reckless driver traveling northbound on Highway 169 headed into Ogden. The driver was stopped at Highway 169 and 230th St and did not show signs of impairment, but stated he was tired. He was advised to find a safe place to rest before resuming his drive.

- 6:53 AM. Deputies responded to a report of suspicious activity in the 500 block of E Walnut St that led them to investigating a domestic dispute that had occurred in the 200 block of SW 5th St. As a result of the investigation, 23-year-old Kaylee Springis-Hudson, of Ogden, was placed under arrest for domestic abuse assault.
