Police Report 7/3 - 7/9/2023

Monday, July 3, 2023
- 10:36 AM. The officer assisted the Boone County Sheriff’s Office with investigating an assault in Boxholm, IA. During the investigation, the suspect began fighting with law enforcement. Matthew Bair, 35 years old of Ogden, was subsequently arrested and charged with Attempting to Disarm a Peace Officer, Obstructing 911 Communications, Assault on a Peace Officer, Assault, Criminal Mischief, Interference with Official Acts, and Assault Causing injury on a Peace Officer. Gowrie Police, Webster County Sheriff’s Office, Greene County Sheriff’s Office, and Iowa State Patrol also assisted.
- 6:13 PM. The deputy investigated a report of suspicious activity in the 600 block of NW 3rd St.
- 9:29 PM. The deputy responded to a report of fireworks near SW 8th St.

Tuesday, July 4, 2023
- 4:18 AM. The deputy assisted with a medical call in the 100 block of SE 2nd St.
- 5:40 AM. The deputy investigated a report of a runaway from the 300 block of S 1st St. The child was located fishing with some friends and was sent home at the request of his mother.
- 9:35 PM. The deputy investigated a report of fireworks near the 300 block of NE 4th St.
- 11:50 PM. The deputy investigated a report of fireworks near NE 2nd St and E Sycamore St.

Wednesday, July 5, 2023
- 1:33 PM. The officer followed up on a harassment report that was given to him off-duty earlier that week. The reported suspect was spoken to.
- 2:19 PM. The officer investigated a report of a suspicious vehicle in the 400 block of E Walnut St. It was just a tired driver taking a break in the shade.
- 2:43 PM. The officer investigated a report of an abandoned bicycle at the City Park. The owner eventually came and picked up the bike later that afternoon.

Thursday, July 6, 2023
- 6:19 PM. The deputy investigated a report of a sick/injured animal in the 300 block of W Mulberry St. The Boone Area Humane Society was contacted.
- 11:53 PM. The deputy investigated a report of a verbal domestic dispute in the 500 block of W Maple St. The reporting party was concerned for the welfare of the children in the house. The deputy made contact with the adults and ensured that everyone in the house was fine.

Friday, July 7, 2023
- 9:28 AM. The officer assisted the Boone County Sheriff’s Office with a vehicle fire near Highway 30 and L Ave.
- 11:16 AM. The officer investigated a report of harassment in the 200 block of W Mulberry St. It was determined that this was one of several prank phone calls being made to various libraries.
- 8:37 PM. Deputies responded to the 400 block of W Division St to assist with a juvenile threatening to run away.

Saturday July 8, 2023
- No calls.

Sunday, July 9, 2023
- 10:15 AM. The duty officer received a report of a lost child in the 300 block of W Walnut St. The Deputy and the officer responded and were able to locate the mother.
- 8:25 PM. Deputy investigated a burning complaint in the 500 block of S 1st St
