Monday, July 31, 2023
- 3:45 AM. The officer responded to an alarm in the 300 block of NW 3rd St. The building was found to be secured, and a keyholder arrived and verified that nothing was out of the ordinary.
- 12:07 PM. The officer assisted with a civil issue in the 200 block of Haws Dr.
- 12:26 PM. The officer conducted a welfare check in the 300 block of E Walnut St. The subject was not home but safe in Ames with a family member.
- 12:46 PM. The officer investigated an abandoned bicycle in the 400 block of W Walnut St. The owner was later located after they saw a post on the PD’s Facebook.
- 2:10 PM. The officer took an extra patrol request in the 500 block of SW 4th St.
- 5:37 PM. The deputy investigated a report of criminal mischief in the 300 block of SW 3rd St. The investigation is ongoing.
- 8:46 PM. The deputy investigated a report of a suspicious vehicle near the 100 block of E Division St. The deputy was unable to locate a vehicle matching the description.

Tuesday, August 1, 2023
- 1:13 AM. Deputies investigated a verbal domestic dispute in the 600 block of W Walnut St. The parties were ultimately separated.
- 7:47. AM. The officer assisted with a civil standby involving the earlier domestic dispute in the 600 block of W Walnut St. This standby also continued later into the day.
- 11:10PM. The officer conducted a welfare check on children in the 500 block of W. Maple St. The young children were found home alone, and a parent was eventually located in Boone. This investigation is ongoing, and DHS has been notified.

Wednesday, August 2, 2023
- 8:34 PM. The deputy took a report of a found dog in the 400 block of NW 8th St. The dog was reunited with its owner a short time later.

Thursday, August 3, 2023
- 12:45 PM. Officers and deputies took a report of a missing child in the 500 block of W Elm St. The child was located safe a short time later.
- 2:24. PM. The deputy assisted with a vehicle unlock in the 300 block of N 1st St.
- 3:48PM. The deputy returned a phone call regarding a civil issue occurring in the 500 block of W Maple St.
- 4:28. PM. The officer assisted the Boone County Sheriff’s Office with a motor vehicle collision near 220th St and D Ave.

Friday, August 4, 2023
- 10:43AM. The officer investigated suspicious activity in the 300 block of SE 4th St.
- 2:40 PM. The officer spoke to a subject in the 400 block of E. Oak St. about open burning rules.
- 10:25PM. The officer responded to the 100 block of W. Veterans Dr. for an intrusion alarm. Everything was ok.
- 10:41 PM. Officer and Boone County Deputies responded to the 400 block of W. Cherry St. for a welfare check on a subject. The subject was located in Boone and was ok.
- 11:03. PM. The officer, along with Boone County Deputies, Iowa State Patrol, and Boone County Conservation, responded to the 200 block of W. Elm St. for a domestic dispute. Parties were separated for the night.

Saturday, August 5, 2023
- 1:02 AM. The officer checked on a suspicious vehicle in the 300 block of E. Mulberry St.
- 1:13 AM. The officer did a civil standby in the 300 block of W. Elm St.

Sunday, August 6, 2023
- 10:25 PM. The deputy responded to a medical alarm in the 400 block of E Walnut St. Contact was made with the resident, and they were found to be ok.
