Monday, July 29, 2024
- 3:29 PM. The officer received information about an attempted scam attempt. The reporting party stated that she had received a phone call from a female who was convincingly able to imitate and portray her granddaughter. The imposter then shared a story stating that she and a friend were driving in another person’s car when they were pulled over by a police officer who found a bag of drugs in the trunk and subsequently arrested them. The reporting party stated that she then spoke with the arresting officer, who gave her a number for an alleged attorney. The reporting party eventually got off the phone and was able to confirm that her granddaughter was not in custody and was at home sick. Fortunately, there was never an attempt to obtain money or personal information.

Tuesday, July 30, 2024
- 6:03 AM. The deputy responded to a report of a downed tree at SW 6th St and W Mulberry St. The Ogden Street Department was contacted and responded to remove the tree.
- 6:23 AM. The deputy observed and replaced fencing from the demolition project in the 200 block of W Walnut St.
- 2:17 PM. The officer followed up on a report of a reckless driver on the Highway 30 off-ramp. The described vehicle was located a short time later, and the driver was talked to about improperly overtaking a vehicle on the right.
- 8:04 PM. The officer provided a welfare check on an individual in the 200 block of E Division St.

Wednesday, July 31, 2024
- 10:23 AM. The officer took a complaint of a reckless vehicle driving around W Elm and W Cherry Streets. The officer patrolled the area for a while but was unable to locate it.
- 11:48 AM. The officer took a report of identity theft. The victim has been living in Texas for work, and it appears that this all occurred in Texas. The victim was given instructions on contacting the company where the identity was used, filing a report with the Federal Trade Commission, and placing a fraud alert on their credit report.

Thursday, August 1, 2024
- 2:42 PM. The officer responded to a report of a reckless vehicle driving westbound into Ogden from Old Highway 30. The vehicle had reportedly been driving erratically since Boone. The officer located and subsequently followed the vehicle and did not observe any driving issues. The officer made contact with the driver and found no signs of impairment or reason to believe that they could not continue driving.
- 6:19 PM. The officer returned a phone call regarding suspicious activity at the Lucky Pig. Due to a time delay with the initial report, the officer was unable to locate the reported involved parties.

Friday, August 2, 2024
- 1:10 PM. The officer assisted the Ogden Fire Department with a carbon monoxide alarm in the 300 block of SW 7th St Pl.
- 3:07 PM. The officer investigated a report of children playing in a running vehicle in the Dollar General parking lot. The vehicle had left before the officer’s arrival.

- 8:40 PM. Deputy and Park Ranger assisted with a medical call in the 400 block of NE 2nd St.

Sunday, August 4, 2024
- 11:06 PM. The deputy responded to a report of a bat in a house in the 200 block of NE 3rd St. The owner and deputy were unable to locate the bat.
