Police Report 7/14-7/20/2025
Monday, July 14, 2025
- 10:08 AM. Officer provided a vehicle unlock in the 200 block of NE 3rd St.
- 11:43 AM. Officer provided a vehicle unlock in the 200 block of W Maple St.
- 12:48 PM. Officer took a report of a scam attempt. The reporting party had received a voicemail from an unknown sender claiming that they had purchased a MacBook Air and requested that they call in to authorize the purchase. The reporting party recognized this as a scam and ignored it.
- 1:38 PM. Officer followed up on a nuisance complaint in the 700 block of W Sycamore St. The subject in question had been notified previously and was currently in compliance.
- 6:56 PM. Deputy responded to a neighbor dispute in the 200 block of NE 4th St Pl. An excavator doing work at a neighbor’s house had damaged the reporting party’s driveway when it drove across it. The deputy will follow up with the construction company.
- 8:49 PM. Deputy returned a phone call to answer questions about a recently issued no-contact order.
Tuesday, July 15, 2025
- 12:08 PM. Officer took a report of a broken window in the 100 block of W Mulberry St. There did not appear to be a criminal element to this. The owner was given a case number for insurance purposes.
- 2:59 PM. Officer observed a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of 1st St and Walnut St. Medical personnel were requested to examine both drivers, and one was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Both vehicles were towed away from the scene, and one driver was issued a citation for failing to yield from a stop sign.

- 9:04 AM. Officer provided a civil standby in the 400 block of W Cherry St due to a recently issued no-contact order.
- 9:07 AM. Officer received a request for a welfare check on an individual Vision Bank was trying to reach, but received no response from. Officer was able to get hold of an acquaintance of the male in question and verify that he was fine and would stop by the bank later that morning.
- 10:11 PM. Officer responded to assist with a dog that had gotten trapped in a live trap at Glenwood Cemetery. The traps had been placed by the city due to a recent problem with groundhogs. The dog was successfully freed, and the owner was advised of the city’s leash law.
Friday, July 18, 2025
- 9:08 AM. Officer conducted a vehicle unlock in the 300 block of SW 6th St.
- 10:40 AM. Officer was asked to assist the Boone County Sheriff’s Office with checking the welfare of a lady seen walking northbound on P70 carrying bags. Officer located the lady at P70 and 180th St. She was on her way to the Don Williams’ Campground, where she was currently staying. Officer gave her a ride back to her campsite.
- 12:19 PM. The officer returned a phone call concerning an ongoing issue in the 100 block of E Locust St. The caller stated that arrangements had been made to clear overgrowth on the property.

- 10:20 AM. Deputy performed a welfare check on a subject in the 600 block of NW 4th St. The subject was found to be fine.
- 2:36 PM. Deputy assisted medical personnel in the 300 block of W Mulberry St.
- 8:26 PM. Deputy responded to a verbal altercation at the City Park.
Sunday, July 20, 2025
- 9:31 AM. Deputy returned a phone call regarding questions about a motorcycle the reporting party wanted to buy, but wanted to make sure it wasn’t stolen.
- 7:45 PM. Deputy responded to a motor vehicle collision at the Ogden Casey's. An information exchange was completed.
