Monday, April 8, 2024
- 12:05. AM. Deputies assisted with a medical call in the 500 block of NW 3rd St.
- 10:31AM. The officer assisted with a medical call in the 400 block of E Walnut St.
- 5:17 PM. The deputy took a nuisance complaint regarding a property in the 300 block of S 1st St.
- 10:55 PM. The deputy responded to a report of barking dogs near the 100 block of W Elm St. The deputy was unable to locate any barking dogs.

Tuesday, April 9, 2024
- 7:53 AM. The officer responded to the 300 block of S 1st St to assist with a child refusing to go to school.
- 8:13 AM. Officers and deputies responded to the 800 block of N 1st St in response to a report of a missing 4-year-old. The child was located in a safe a short time later.
- 9:40 AM. The officer investigated a harassment/threat report in the 500 block of E Oak St. With the assistance of the Boone Police Department, the incident was resolved.
- 3:27 PM. The officer assisted with a family dispute in the 200 block of SE 2nd St.
- 4:17 PM. The deputy investigated a disconnected 911 call from the 200 block of SW 5th St. The Deputy made contact with the owner, who stated there was no emergency.

Wednesday, April 10, 2024
- 11:59 AM. Officers and deputies responded to the 300 block of NW 4th St for a reported fight in progress involving a juvenile. Sheltering arrangements were made for the juvenile with assistance from YSS in Ames, IA.
- 6:04 PM. The officer and deputy responded to a medical emergency in the 700 block of W Sycamore St.

Thursday, April 11, 2024
- 9:08 AM. The officer took a report of a possibly injured dog loose near the intersection of S 1st St and W Oak St. The Officer responded to the area but was unable to locate the dog.

Friday, April 12, 2024
- 11:29 AM. The officer followed up on a report of an abandoned vehicle in the 400 block of SW 4th St. The vehicle broke down, and arrangements were made to have it moved.
- 6:14 PM. The officer responded to the area of the 200 block of SW 3rd St to locate a reported reckless vehicle. The officer was unable to locate the black Ford Edge in question.
- 9:30 PM. The officer saw people with lights walking around the Little League ball grounds and made contact with them. The officer ultimately located and seized vaping instruments from the underage subjects.

Saturday, April 13, 2024
- 1:08 PM. The deputy responded to the 800 block of N 1st St to speak with a child about improper use of 911 after the six-year-old called in and reported that there was a “robbery at the bank.”
- 11:13 PM. The deputy spoke with residents in the 300 block of E Walnut St regarding a complaint of their dogs barking and disturbing the peace. The deputy verified that the dogs were barking loudly and advised the owners to do what was necessary to keep their dogs from disturbing the neighbors.

OPEN BURNING IN EFFECT
Open burning is permitted from April 15th through May 31st between the hours of 10. am and 8pm. Please keep in mind that only landscape waste can be burned, and it is illegal to burn garbage, paper, sawn wood, demolished components of any structure, tires, or treated wood of any kind. The fire shall be attended by a competent person at all times.
As always, recreational fires are exempt from this ordinance. A recreational fire is limited to firewood burning in a fire pit or charcoal in a grill.
Please use common sense when burning and keep the following in mind:
- Wind direction and speed.
- Nearby structures and other flammable materials.
- Dry conditions.
- Direction of smoke.
