ON SATURDAY, APRIL 27, 2019, FROM 10 AM TO 12 PM, THE OGDEN POLICE DEPARTMENT AND THE U.S. DRUG ENFORCEMENT ADMINISTRATION WILL GIVE THE PUBLIC ITS 17TH OPPORTUNITY IN NINE YEARS TO PREVENT PILL ABUSE AND THEFT BY RIDDING THEIR HOMES OF POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS EXPIRED, UNUSED, AND UNWANTED PRESCRIPTION DRUGS.  BRING YOUR PILLS FOR DISPOSAL TO THE OGDEN POLICE DEPARTMENT AT 513 W WALNUT STREET, OGDEN, IOWA.  (SITES CANNOT ACCEPT LIQUIDS OR NEEDLES OR SHARPS.  ONLY PILLS OR PATCHES).  THE SERVICE IS FREE AND ANONYMOUS, NO QUESTIONS ASKED.

Monday, April 8, 2019
- 8:30 AM. The officer handled an injured animal complaint in the 300 block of W. Walnut St.

Tuesday, April 9, 2019
- 5:08. AM. Deputy assisted Ogden First Responders at 213 W. Walnut St.
- 10:52AM. The officer investigated an open burning complaint. The officer advised the property owner to put the fire out.
- 3:48 PM. The officer investigated a noise complaint in the 500 block of S. 1st St.
- 4:04 PM. Deputy assisted Ogden First Responders in the 100 blk of West Veterans. St.

Wednesday, April 10, 2019
- 9:45 AM. The officer investigated an illegal dumping complaint in the 300 block of SW 5th  St.
- 11:23 AM. The officer did a welfare check on a subject.
- 3:42 PM. The officer assisted a subject with loose cattle in the 400 block of E. Maple St.

Thursday, April 11, 2019
- 3:02 AM. The deputy assisted the Ogden Fire Department with a fire alarm at the Leonard Good Community Center.  This turned out to be a hot motor on the furnace.
- 1:00 PM.  Employees of Caseys General Store reported that the subject left without paying for gas.
- 2:10 PM.  The officer received a report of tree branches on the sidewalk in the 300 block of NE 3rd Street.  The owner of the property where the tree fell was up cleaning up the debris.
- 3:17 PM.  The officer checked on the subject and slumped over the steering wheel.  The subject was resting.
- 5:04 PM.  The deputy assisted the subject locked out of the vehicle.

Friday, April 12, 2019
- 8:17 AM.  Officer assisted Boone County Deputies, Ogden Fire, Ogden First Responders, and Boone County Ambulance with a four-vehicle accident involving personal injury at D Avenue and 220th Street.
- 1:00 PM.  Ogden resident reported receiving a possible scam phone call.
- 5:41 PM.  Ogden resident reported that his landlord was taking items from his truck while he was away from home.  The officer spoke with the landlord, and the landlord had taken the battery out of the truck to charge it.  The officer advised the landlord to leave the tenant's property alone.
- 9:33 PM.  The officer received a complaint of a possible intoxicated driver.  The officer stopped the driver in the 100 block of West Walnut.  The driver was not intoxicated but was distracted by talking on the phone.

Saturday, April 13 2019
- 3:10 PM.  The officer received a complaint of a possible assault that had taken place in the 100 block of W Maple Street.  The complainant was intoxicated, and an altercation had taken place with another adult male.  The officer had a family member come and pick up the intoxicated subject.  No charges were filed.
- 4:49 PM.  The deputy was asked to check on a male subject walking east of Ogden on 216th.  The subject was just out for a walk.
- At 8:47 PM, an Ogden resident reported that her white Yorkie dog had gotten out of the house.  The dog has no collar or tags.  The dog is old and blind and is not aggressive.

Sunday, April 14, 2019
- 1:02 AM.  The deputy responded to a complaint of loud music at 205 W Walnut Street.  The deputy advised the subjects to quiet down.
- 8:55 AM.  The officer assisted Ogden First Responders at 413 E Mulberry with a male subject who had fallen.
- 12:55 PM.  The officer checked on a fire at 866 H Avenue.  This was a controlled burn.
- 6:21 PM.  The officer was called to ACCURA Health for a resident who had walked away from the facility.  The officer and staff were able to get the resident back to the facility, and she was transported to Des Moines for an evaluation.
