Police Report 4/7-4/13/2025

Monday, April 7, 2025
- 7:56 AM. The officer responded to the Ogden Elementary School to investigate a report of a teenager who had apparently slept overnight in the City Park. When the officer arrived on the scene, the teenager was recognized as a female who had been reported as a runaway out of Ames the previous week. The officer took the female to the Ogden Police Department, where he made arrangements to have her returned to Ames. It was discovered that she had been listed as a runaway by the Ames PD.

Tuesday, April 8, 2025
- 7:40 AM. The officer assisted with a medical call in the 600 block of W Locust St.
- 11:09 AM. Officers and deputies responded to a motor vehicle collision in the 700 block of Highway 30.
- 11:55 AM. The officer assisted with a medical call in the 400 block of W Veterans Dr.
- 3:03 PM. Officer returned a phone call about harassment. The caller resides out in the county, but the officer gave her advice on what steps to take to ensure there’s no more contact between her and the other party.
- 6:01 PM. The officer received information that the runaway from Ames was possibly back in town. The officer checked the two addresses she had been at, but was unable to locate her.

Wednesday, April 9, 2025
- 12:23 PM. The deputy took a report of criminal mischief in the 700 block of W Cherry St. 2 mailboxes appeared to have been hit by an unknown vehicle.
- 2:34 PM. The deputy responded to the City Park for a report of juveniles throwing rocks. The deputy made contact with two boys who were throwing rocks at each other as a game. They agreed to stop throwing rocks at the park.

Thursday, April 10, 2025
- 6:46 AM. Deputy took a report of a deceased cat in the 500 block of W Mulberry St. The humane society was contacted to pick it up.
- 1:19 PM. The deputy followed up on a report of a scam that came in from Vision Bank regarding one of their customers. The customer had given out her account information, but the bank was able to close and freeze her account before any money was taken.

Friday, April 11, 2025
- 3:28 PM. Deputy returned a phone call about possible fraudulent activity. The reporting party believes that someone is purchasing items online using his name.
- 7:05 PM. Deputies responded to a neighborhood dispute in the 500 block of W Division.

Saturday, April 12, 2025
- 8:49 AM. Deputy assisted with a medical call in the 600 block of W Walnut St.
- 5:15 PM. The deputy provided a vehicle unlock at the Ogden Caseys.
- 7:51 PM. The deputy investigated a report of reckless driving in the 100 block of SW 7th St. The deputy was able to locate the suspect vehicle and warned the driver about his driving habits, including “skidding his tires”.

Sunday, April 13, 2025
- 2:29 AM. Deputy investigated a report of a burning complaint in the 300 block of S 1st St. It was determined to have been from a legal recreational fire that had since been extinguished.

Open burning will go into effect on April 15th through May 31st between the hours of 10 am and 8 pm. ONLY landscape waste can be burned. Recreational fires in a fire pit or grill are exempt from this ordinance.
