Police Report 4/3 - 4/9/2023

Monday, April 3, 2023
- 7:45 AM. The officer took several reports of 2 large dogs near the area of the elementary school. The owner also called in around the same time, and the dogs were returned home.
- 11:42 AM. The officer conducted a welfare check in the 300 block of NW 6th St. This led to a civil issue that was forwarded to the Boone Police Department.
- 9:34 PM. Deputies assisted with a medical call in the 100 block of W Sycamore.

- No calls.

Wednesday, April 5, 2023
- 9:48 AM. The officer took a report of a scam. The scammers, claiming to be with Toyota Services, offered the victim a monthly service plan for $150/month, which the victim authorized. The victim then quickly realized this was a scam and contacted the bank to have the authorization and credit card canceled. Thankfully, the victim was not out of any money.
- 1:10 PM. The officer responded to a welfare check in the 400 block of W Division St. The Central Iowa Crisis Line was contacted, and a Mobile Crisis Team was dispatched to assist.
- 8:10 PM. The officer investigated an abandoned vehicle in the 200 block of S 1st St. The owner was contacted.

Thursday, April 6, 2023
- 3:10 PM. The officer received a report of suspicious activity in the 700 block of W Division St. The suspect was no longer on the scene at the time of the call, and the reporting party was encouraged to call back if the suspect returned.
- 10:43 PM. The officer responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the 200 block of NE 3rd St. The Officer made contact with the driver, who was just dropping off a family member.

Friday, April 7, 2023
- 10:13 AM. The officer responded to an animal complaint in the 200 block of E Sycamore St. The owner was contacted, and the complaint will be handled civilly.
- 1:37 PM. The officer assisted with a medical call in the 300 block of S 1st St.
- 2:40 PM. The officer investigated a burning complaint in the 300 block of SE 4th St. It was determined to be a legal recreational fire.
- 3:24 PM. The officer was given a wallet containing an ID card, credit card, and cash. The owner, out of Des Moines, was contacted and informed the officer that the wallet went missing months ago. Arrangements were made to collect the property at a later date.
- 5:43 PM. The officer conducted a welfare check in the 400 block of W Division St. Medical personnel were paged to respond and transported a patient to Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames.
- 5:46. The Deputy took a criminal mischief report in the 400 block of W Division St. The investigation is ongoing.

Saturday, April 8, 2023
- 3:56 PM. The deputy responded to a report of harassment in the 100 block of W Walnut St. The suspect was warned about no further contact with the reporting party. A trespass notice will also be sent to the suspect.
- 5:01 PM. A deputy investigated a report of a fake ID in the 100 block of W Veterans Dr. The investigation is ongoing.
