Monday, February 9, 2026
-9:26AM. Officer took a report from Caseys about a utility vehicle that had been left parked in their handicap space since the previous Saturday. Officer identified the owner of the vehicle and had a family member check on him at his residence outside of town. The owner was fine, and arrangements were made to have the vehicle moved later that day.

Tuesday, February 10, 2026
-1:15PM. Officer assisted with a vehicle unlock in the 300 block of SE 2nd St.
-8:47PM. Officer responded to a report of suspicious activity near the 500 block of W Cherry St. Officer made contact with homeowners in the area who verified that the suspicious person was their adult daughter who was walking around with a flashlight.

Wednesday, February 11, 2026
-1:56PM. Officer responded to a minor motor vehicle collision in the Casey’s parking lot.
-5:23PM. Officer responded to a report of suspicious activity in the 500 block of NW 3rd St.
-6:29PM. Officer took a report of harassment between juveniles.

Thursday, February 12, 2026
-7:29AM. Officer responded to assist deputies with a domestic dispute in the 500 block of H Ave.

Friday, February 13, 2026
-4:01PM. Officer took a call from a concerned citizen about what appeared to be a juvenile dragging something on the railroad tracks near City Hall. Officer made contact with a young train enthusiast who was watching trains pass. He admitted to pulling some debris away from the tracks and was warned to keep a safe distance at all times.

-Multiple reports of stolen hearts and broken hearts.

Sunday, February 15, 2026
-No reported activity.

NOTE: With the unusual (yet welcome) warm weather recently, more people have been out walking/running in town. Our department has received complaints of pedestrians being chased or approached by dogs that are not properly secured. City Ordinance 55.06 makes it unlawful for any owner to allow an animal to run at large within the city corporate limits and City Ordinance 55.13 states that animals found at large will be impounded or, at the officer’s discretion, the owner may be served a summons to appear in court. Please do your part in keeping all pets properly secured. This ensures the safety of our community members and our pets. Thank you.
