Police Report 2/18 - 2/24/2019

PSA: IF YOU HAVE A FIRE HYDRANT IN FRONT OF YOUR RESIDENCE, YOU ARE REQUIRED TO KEEP SNOW CLEARED AWAY FROM THE HYDRANT SO FIREMEN WILL BE ABLE TO ACCESS THE HYDRANT IN CASE OF A FIRE.

THE CITY OF OGDEN WOULD LIKE TO THANK TYLER WISECUP, BEN ANDERSON, AND MITCH SIMPSON (ALL EMPLOYEES OF WISECUP TRUCKING)  FOR GOING AROUND TOWN ON FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 22, 2019, AND CLEARING SNOW AWAY FROM FIRE HYDRANTS.  TYLER IS A MEMBER OF THE OGDEN FIRE DEPARTMENT AND SAID THEY WOULD RATHER CLEAN THE SNOW AWAY WHILE IT WAS NICE AND NOT WHEN THEY NEEDED IT DURING A FIRE.  TYLER SAID THAT IF YOU NEED HELP CLEARING SNOW FROM AROUND FIRE HYDRANTS, YOU CAN CALL HIM AT 515-230-6449.

Monday, February 18, 2019
- 3:35 PM.  Ogden resident requested an officer call her in regards to retrieving belongings.
- 9:31 PM.  Jasmine Ferguson, 30, of Nevada, reported that her car has been missing for over a month, and she believes it is in Ogden.  The vehicle has been parked at the residence in Ogden, where she left it.

Tuesday, February 19, 2019
- 1:16 AM.  Ogden officer assisted the Ogden Fire Department with a fire alarm that was going off at Boone County Family Medicine 320 W Walnut Street.  When a key holder arrived, they were able to determine that a refrigerator was malfunctioning and it was unplugged.
- 8:20 AM.  The officer spoke with the subject about parking on the traveled portion of the road.  The officer advised this is not allowed.
- 12:35 PM.  The officer received a complaint of a sidewalk not being cleared of snow in the downtown area.  The officer spoke with the business owner and advised a path needs to be cleared.
- 2:00 PM.  Ogden officer, a city maintenance crew, and a private citizen assisted a subject who was stuck in the snow.
- 4:00 PM.  Ogden officers executed a search warrant at an Ogden residence.  This was regarding the Ogden Mart Burglary on Saturday, February 16, 2019.  Several items were seized that were taken during the burglary.  A warrant has been issued for a subject.

Wednesday, February 20, 2019
- 6:40 AM.  The officer received a report of a vehicle parked in the traveled portion of the road in the 300 block of East Cherry Street.  The driver had pulled off the road to wait until it got light out to continue on her way due to snow and road conditions.
- 3:36 PM.  The officer assisted the subject locked out of the vehicle.
- 3:47 PM.  The officer returned a phone call to a subject who wanted to report her daughter’s vehicle was hit late Friday, February 15, 2019, or early Saturday, February 16, 2019, while it was parked on the street in the 500 block of SW 4th Street.

Thursday, February 21, 2019
- 3:43 AM.  The deputy responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the 300 block of NE 4th Street.  There was nobody in the vehicle, and no one would come to the door of the residence where the vehicle was parked in front of.
- 7:10 AM.  The officer received a complaint of an illegally parked vehicle in the 300 block of W Sycamore Street.  The officer had the vehicle towed.
- 11:35 AM.  The officer received a complaint of a yellow Labrador dog running loose in the 400 block of West Cherry Street.  The officer took the dog to the Boone Area Humane Society.
- 12:18 PM.  The officer assisted the subject, who had slid into the ditch in the 1100 block of J Avenue.

Friday, February 22, 2019
- 11:30 AM. The officer assisted a loan company with an abandoned vehicle.
- 6:02 PM. The deputy investigated trespassing at 314 E. Mulberry St.

Saturday, February 23, 2019
- At 9:42. AM, the Officer investigated suspicious activity at 614 W. Walnut St.
- 11:25AM. The officer assisted a lost motorist in the 500 block of West Walnut St.
- 1:08 PM. The officer did a welfare check on a subject at 219 NW 7th St.
- 1:42 PM. The officer did a welfare check on a subject at 508 W. Division St.
- 3:31 PM. The officer assisted a subject with a medical problem at 219 NW 7th St.

Sunday, February 24, 2019
- 11:14 AM. The officer checked on an open door to a camper at 214 N. 1 St. Street.
- 12:35 PM. The officer investigated a domestic assault that occurred in the city.
- 3:18 PM. The officer assisted Ogden First Responders at 225 NE 4th St.
