Police Report 2/15 - 2/21/2021
Monday, February 15, 2021
- 7:30 AM. The officer assisted the subject locked out of the vehicle.
- 1:02 PM. The officer called and left a message for the owner of the building downtown and asked that snow be removed from the entire sidewalk so that people parking downtown do not have to walk through the snow to get to the sidewalk. Also, asked the tenant to move a car that is parked on the west side of Waters Edge so that snow can be cleared from the parking.
- 3:07 PM. The officer received a report of an elderly couple that had run out of gas in the 200 block of North 1st Street. A private citizen was just bringing a gallon of gas upon the officer’s arrival. The officer followed the subjects to Casey to make sure they made it.

- 12:44 PM. Boone County Communications received a report of a horse that was lying in the snow at 787 210th Street, and the caller thought it might be deceased. Ogden officer checked, and the horse had gotten up. The officer contacted the owner, and he said the horse would lay in the sun for hours.
- 1:22 PM. The officer was asked to check an Ogden residence and do a welfare check on a female subject. The officer went to the residence, and she was not there.
- 9:03 PM. The officer was asked to check on the welfare of the Ogden resident. The officer went to the residence and spoke with the subject, and he was fine.

- 8:08 AM. The officer assisted the subject locked out of the vehicle.
- 2:25 PM. The officer investigated a 2-vehicle accident in the ACCURA Health Parking Lot. Jodi Stonehocker, 43, of Perry, was backing her 2019 Nissan out of a parking stall and back in front of a 2008 Kia driven by Deana Rather, 53, of Boone. The parking lot was snow-packed, so Rather was unable to stop and ran into the right rear quarter panel of Stonehocker's vehicle. There was approximately $5,000.00 damage to the Nissan and $1,500.00 damage to the Kia. No citations were issued, as this was on private property.

- 9:35 AM. Ogden resident turned in a 2-way portable radio that she found in the roadway near Spinning Wheels Skating Rink. The officer was able to locate the owner and return.
- 2:05 PM. The officer returned a phone call to a parent regarding options as to what could be done about the daughter being harassed.
- 3:08 PM. Paul Fangman reported that a pickup truck pulling a trailer with large bales of hay just pulled through his parking lot at 101 W Walnut and struck his business sign, FANG’S Auto, and knocked it down. The truck continued south on 1st Street. The officer stopped the vehicle in the 800 block of 220th eastbound. The driver did not know that he had struck the sign. The officer took the driver’s information and gave it to Mr. Fangman.
- 8:38 PM. The deputy was asked to do a welfare check on an Ogden resident. The subject was fine.
Friday, February 19, 2021
- 12:20 PM. The officer received a report that a Menards tractor/trailer ran over the stop sign at the westbound 220th Street off-ramp into Ogden. The truck proceeded south over the bridge. The officer asked Boone County Communications Center to notify the Iowa Department of Transportation Traffic Management.
- 1:15 PM. The officer assisted subjects who were stuck in the snow.
- 3:30 PM. The officer received a complaint of road rage.
- 4:10 PM. The officer received a report of a vehicle that was in the ditch just east of H Avenue on 260th and occupied by four persons. The passerby said that he could pull them out, but he did not have a tow strap. After verifying everyone was uninjured and valid to drive, the officer loaned the passerby a tow strap, and the vehicle was towed out of the ditch.
- 5:08 PM. Dani Sanders reported being in an accident at SW 7th and Walnut. Dani advised the other vehicle left the scene and went north on NW 7th, but his license plate fell off the truck. The deputy responded to the scene and went to the address of the vehicle that had left the scene. Deputy cited James Merrill, 60, of Ogden, for Failure to Obey a Stop Sign and Leaving the Scene of an accident.
- 6:20 PM. The deputy assisted the motorist locked out of the vehicle.
- 6:28 PM. The deputy received a complaint of a possible fire at a block garage in the 200 block of SW 4th Street. The deputy checked the building, and there was no fire.

- 2:30 PM. The officer assisted a stranded motorist.
- 9:28 PM. Deputy assisted Ogden First Responders at 313 SW 3rd St.

- 6:03. AM. Deputy assisted Ogden Fire Department at 256 SE 2nd St.
- 9:53 AM. The officer assisted a stranded motorist in the 100 block of SW 6th St.
- 12:22 PM. The officer assisted Ogden First Responders at 425 SE 2nd St. Apt. 12
- 3:23 PM. The officer assisted a Boone County Deputy with a vehicle in the ditch in the 600 block of Highway 30.
