Police Report 1/6 - 1/12/2025
Monday, January 6, 2025
- 12:34 PM. Officers and deputies responded to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of SE 2nd St and E Division St. Drivers and a passenger were examined on scene by medical personnel and one driver was cited for failure to obey the yield sign.
- 3:45 PM. The officer arrested 52-year-old Jill Gaines of Pilot Mound for 5th-degree Theft as the result of an ongoing investigation. Gaines was released on her promise to appear in court.
- 5:45 PM. Deputy responded to the area of S 1st Street and Highway 30 regarding a report of a truck driving recklessly. The deputy was unable to locate the vehicle.
Tuesday, January 7, 2025
- 9:09 AM. The officer assisted with a student experiencing mental health issues at the Ogden Middle School. The Mobile Crisis Center was contacted and responded to complete an evaluation.
- 4:37 PM. The officer received information that there was a wanted subject attending a basketball game at the Ogden High School. Officer and deputies identified 60-year-old Todd Ofelt, of Van Meter, and placed him under arrest for an active warrant out of Dallas County.

-8:27PM The Officer did a welfare check at 513 NW 7th St. Lot 4. The subject was ok and advised to contact the family.
Thursday, January 9, 2025
- 10:34 AM. The officer transported a student to Boone County Hospital from the Ogden High School for medical purposes.
- 12:24 PM. The officer received a complaint of a possible assault that occurred at a residence. The investigation is ongoing.
Friday, January 10, 2025
- 12:41 PM. The officer assisted Des Moines PD with attempting to locate a possible fraud victim in the 600 block of Haws Dr. The officer was unable to locate anyone.

- No reported activity.
Sunday, January 12, 2025
- 10:05 AM. Deputy responded to the 700 block of W Locust St to investigate a theft report of 2 tires taken from a truck. The investigation is ongoing.
- 7:28 PM. Deputies responded to the 500 block of W Sycamore in regards to a domestic disturbance. Medical personnel and an Ogden PD officer also responded to assist due to a self-inflicted injury. The patient was life-flighted to Des Moines for treatment.
