Police Report 10/7 - 10/13/2024
Monday, October 7, 2024
- 12:44 PM. The officer responded to the 300 block of SE 4th St to take a citizen complaint.
- 1:14 PM. The officer responded to City Hall where a loose dog had shown up. The dog was identified and returned to its home in the 200 block of SW 4th St.
- 7:39 PM. The deputy investigated a report of theft at Dollar General. The suspect had already left but was positively identified. The investigation is ongoing.
- 7:40 PM. Deputies investigated a report of barking dogs in the 300 block of E Walnut St. The deputies did not hear nor see any dogs at the reported location.
Tuesday, October 8, 2024
- 8:15 AM. The officer took a report of a minor motor vehicle collision in the Ogden High School parking lot. An information exchange was completed once all the involved parties were located/identified.
- 11:42 AM. The officer took a walk-in report of a stolen credit card. The investigation is ongoing.
- 2:56 PM. The officer returned a phone call regarding identity theft. This was a result of a data breach in Des Moines earlier this year. The medical center involved had provided 2 years of free fraud security, which flagged the event. The reporting party was advised to contact her bank and place a fraud alert for her credit report, which she had already done.

- 10:03 AM. Report of loose dogs in the 300 block of S 1st St. An officer was unable to respond, but the owner of the dogs was contacted. The issue of allowing the dogs to continually escape is being fixed this week.
- 10:27 AM. The deputy provided a vehicle unlock in the 200 block of W Mulberry St.
- 11:52 AM. The officer investigated a report of an injured crow in the 500 block of W Cherry St. The crow did appear to be hurt but was not so hurt that it couldn’t fly away when the officer got close. Interesting fact: Crows are very intelligent birds and have been known to fake an injury in hopes that they will receive food from concerned humans!
- 7:07 PM. The officer and deputy investigated a third-party report of an assault in the 700 block of W Sycamore St. It was determined that there was no assault after security footage from within the home was reviewed.
Thursday, October 10, 2024
- 7:53 AM. The officer assisted a stranded motorist whose vehicle was stuck at the intersection of SW 4th St and W Walnut St.
- 11:52 AM. The officer responded to a report of a domestic in the 400 block of W Cherry St. The suspect had left prior to the officer’s arrival. There were no clear signs of injury, and the reporting party did not wish to pursue charges.
- 1:08 PM. The officer received a report of harassment in the 300 block of SE 4th St. The reporting party stated that they feel harassed because of a black truck that constantly drives by their residence. The description of the vehicle matches that of a student who uses that street as the most direct route to get to school every day.
- 2:54 PM. Received a report of a scam attempt in the 600 block of NW 3rd St. The reporting party stated that a male with a foreign accent called stating that she needed to make a payment, or her electricity would be shut off. The reporting party knew that she did not receive electricity through that company and hung up on him.
- 7:27 PM. The officer assisted the Boone County Sheriff’s Office in the 200 block of E Locust St with attempting to follow up on a vehicle believed to have been involved in an earlier report of reckless driving, speeding, and driving on the wrong way of Highway 30.
- 8:03 PM. The officer investigated a report of fraudulent activity at the Ogden Caseys. The investigation is ongoing.

- 9:20 AM. Deputies provided a funeral escort.
- 1:37 PM. The deputy investigated an open 911 call in the 300 block of SW 7th St. It was determined to be an accidental call from an Apple Watch.
