Police Report 10/21 - 10/27/2024
Monday, October 21, 2024
- 6:22 AM. The deputy took a report of dogs at large in the 300 block of W Sycamore St. The owner was notified but was out of town at the time of the call. Additional complaints came in over the next couple of hours. The officer and the owner were eventually able to locate them in the 100 block of Vine St and return them home.
- 7:29 AM. A deputy investigated a motor vehicle collision at Highway 30 westbound off-ramp.
- 7:31 AM. Report of a railroad spike sticking up on the northbound section of the 1st St railroad crossing. The Union Pacific Railroad was contacted. Once an available officer was able to respond there was no traffic hazard located.
- 7:15 PM. The deputy responded to the 200 block of W Walnut to assist with removing a bird from an apartment.
Tuesday, October 22, 2024
- 8:25 AM. The officer assisted administration at the Ogden Middle/High School with a threat assessment. After a thorough investigation, it was determined that there was no danger or threat of danger to the student body, staff, or community.
- 10:11 PM. The deputy responded to an alarm at Casey's. It was determined to be a false alarm.

- 5:58 PM. The deputy took a report of criminal mischief at the City Park. The investigation is ongoing.
Thursday, October 24, 2024
- 7:28 AM. The officer and deputy took a report of child abuse involving a middle school student. A joint investigation with Ogden Middle School staff showed no evidence of assault.
- 11:59 AM. The officer and deputy conducted a funeral escort.
Friday, October 25, 2024
- 8:49 PM. The deputy responded to a report of dogs barking in the 300 block of E Walnut St. The dogs had been brought inside prior to the deputy’s arrival. The reporting party expressed her disappointment in Chief Bailey’s response to her numerous complaints and informed the deputy about how many dogs there are in the neighborhood.
Saturday, October 26, 2024
- 1:18 PM. Deputies responded to the 400 block of E Walnut St to assist with a subject who was experiencing a mental health crisis.
Sunday, October 27, 2024
- 9:21 AM. The deputy investigated a report of a broken door/glass in the 100 block of SW 8th St. It was later discovered that this was from an accident the previous night and there was no criminal activity.
- 10:06 AM. The deputy investigated a report of a burning complaint near SW 6th St and W Division St. The violator was warned about the county-wide burn ban.
