-9:54PM. Deputy responded to a welfare check in the 300 block of E Maple St regarding what sounded like people screaming. There were a group of boys found swimming, but they were all fine.
Tuesday, August 19, 2025
-3:10PM. Deputy removed a bat from a residence in the 300 block of S 1st St.
-6:04PM. Officer responded to a report of a vehicle driving recklessly on Highway 30 travelling westbound from Boone. Once the officer located the suspected vehicle, he followed it and observed no offenses.
-9:10PM. Officer received a report of a scam from the Ogden Casey’s.

-1:31PM. Officer returned a phone call regarding information on a reckless driver who appeared to be emotionally distressed. The driver was identified, and a family member was contacted to assist.
Thursday, August 21, 2025
-1:29AM. Officer located a male walking in the 500 block of W Walnut St who was trying to get to Boone. The officer gave him a ride to L&M.
-3:16PM. Report of a bat in the Library. Before law enforcement could respond, a brave and noble citizen/firefighter/first-responder/school-grounds-director stepped in and saved the day.

-10:18AM. Deputy returned a phone call regarding a car theft that had possibly taken place the previous afternoon in the 100 block of SW 2nd St. The investigation is ongoing.

-1:09PM. Deputy returned a phone call regarding an issue stemming from a Facebook Marketplace sale.
Sunday, August 24, 2025
-11:52AM. Deputy responded to a request for a welfare check on an individual sitting near the train tracks by City Hall. The subject in question was filming trains and was doing so from a safe distance.
-4:06PM. Deputy attempted to locate a vehicle that had been seen in the 300 block of NW 4th St with children’s play equipment on top of the vehicle that was only be secured by a child hanging out of a passenger window. The vehicle was not located.
