STATEMENT OF COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS
October 12, 2021
The Ogden City Council met in Regular Session on Tuesday, October 12th, 2021, at 7:00 p.m. Mayor Pro Tem Brian Reimers presided. Members present were Councilman Jason Weber, Councilman David Ohlson, Councilwoman Lori Anderson and Councilwoman Margaret Liston. City staff present were City Administrator Emily Clausen, City Clerk Melanie Olesen, Library Director Lori Reutter, and City Attorney Lee Johnson. Absent: Mayor Denny Good. Additional attendees present were 2 guests.
Weber made a motion, Ohlson seconded to approve the agenda as presented.

Department reports were presented. Library Director Lori Reutter reported that she is happy to be back to a more regular schedule and that story time has started up again. Last week had 21 kids and 8 adults. City Hall offices will be closed Thursday and Friday, October 21 and 22 for Professional Development while staff attends the IMFOA Conference. Hail damage estimates have been received and we will look at moving forward getting repairs made. City Administrator Emily Clausen shared her conversation with John Danos from Dorsey and Whitney on the timeline for approving the urban renewal area, TIF pledge and development agreement with Fareway Stores.
Mayor Pro Tem Reimers asked if there were any questions or items to be removed from the Consent Agenda. New Moon alcohol permit will move to November agenda as we have not received any information. Anderson made a motion, Liston seconded to approve the following items on the Consent Agenda: 1) Regular meeting minutes of Tuesday, September 14th, 2021. 2) Treasurer’s Report for September 2021. 3) Claims List from September 11th, 2021, through October 8th, 2021. 4) Fence permit for Linda Cox for a vinyl fence at 419 W. Chestnut, fence permit for a chain link fence and a building permit for a 16×24 garage for Carlton Basmajian at 237 SW 8th Street. 5) Solid Waste Hauler Permit for Walters Sanitary Service Inc.

Ogden Rural Fire Board township trustees’ recommendation is to leave the millage rate as is at .505/1000 and continue with same percentages as last year.
Mayor Pro Tem Comments –Mayor Pro Tem Reimers noted the good turnout for the Fareway groundbreaking.
Councilmember Comments – Lori Anderson commented the Oktoberfest had a great turnout and was a beautiful day. Jason Weber had some concerns about some street damage on W. Sycamore. Administrator will discuss with Chad and Dan. Dave Ohlson asked about the road construction sign that has been out for quite some time on W. Walnut. He also asked about the street sweeper. Administrator will discuss with Dan. Dave also updated council on the bike trail. They are continuing to expand and are working on fundraising now. Brian Reimers discussed the new Boone Wellness Center. He was approached about partnering with Boone on this project. Council feels we currently have enough projects of our own to focus on and work on funding. Administrator to also work on moving forward with a hoop building for recycling and cans.
Public Comment – Dave Huntley spoke to the council about plans for the Ogden Veterans Monument that has been discussed for a long time. He asked about the possibility of putting it in the city park. Kallin-Johnson is working on the monument plans.
Motion by Ohlson, second by Weber to adjourn at 7:36 p.m.
