Monday August 3, 2020
-12:16PM. Officer investigated a 2-vehicle accident in the 100 block of west Veterans Drive. Derrik Bauer, 38, of Jefferson, was driving a 2014 Ram and pulling out of Caseys parking lot to go west on Veterans, when he struck a 2016 Honda driven by Tim Clark, 61, of Ogden who was eastbound on Veterans Drive. There was approximately $1,200.00 damage to each vehicle.
-2:10PM. Officer assisted Ogden Fire Department with a dumpster on fire at 219 W Chestnut.
-3:15PM. An Ogden resident reported that she was receiving numerous phone calls from 2 different numbers asking for a subject that does not live at her residence. The officer advised to not answer the calls if she did not know who was calling and to see about having the numbers blocked.
-4:31PM. James Comer reported that someone appears to have punched the side of his trailer, leaving dents.
-6:28PM. Officer received a report of 2 ferrets running loose in the 400 block of W Cherry Street.

Tuesday August 4, 2020
-11:40AM. An Ogden resident reported a phone scam. The resident said that she received a phone call from someone claiming to be from the Social Security Administration. The person said that the resident’s Economic Impact Check due to the Coronavirus would be suspended if the resident did not verify her social security number. The resident did not give any information. This is a scam. The Social Security Administration or any government agency will not call you by phone and they will not ask you to verify your information over the phone. Persons are warned to never give any personal information over the phone.
-2:14PM. Officer assisted subject locked out of vehicle.
-10:41PM. Deputy responded to a report of a suspicious subject who had been standing in the Zion Church parking lot for approximately 2 hours. The deputy spoke with a female and gave her a ride to her residence.

Wednesday August 5, 2020
-9:42AM. Officer received a report of cattle on the roadway in the 1500 block of H Avenue. The owner of the cows had back on his property upon officer’s arrival.

Friday August 7, 2020
-10:12AM. Officer received a complaint of a missing bike from 325 SW 7th St. Place. The bike is a 20” BMX type bike, blue/white in color with blue rims.
-11:39AM. Officer provided a funeral escort from Carson/Stapp Funeral Home to Glenwood Cemetery.
-1:48PM. Ogden resident reported that he had just received a phone scam.
-3:41PM. Kathy Weber, 608 W Division, reported that her dark gray tabby cat with white chin and a chest stripe has been missing since Monday.

-10:26PM Officer received a complaint of a reckless driver on highway 169. Officer was unable to locate the vehicle.
-3:52PM. Officer received a complaint of a missing animal at 608 W. Division St.

-6:35AM. Officer assisted Ogden First Responders and Boone County Ambulance.
-8:28PM. Deputies responded to a report of 2 males yelling at one another somewhere near the NE 3rd railroad crossing. The deputies were unable to locate anyone in the area.

-2:14PM. Officer attempted to locate a lost motorist.

Friday July 31, 2020
-12:20AM. Deputy received information on a missing person from Ogden. Family was notified and went to pick him up.
-4:48PM. Ogden resident called in and advised she had caught a cat that was running at large. The Boone Area Humane Society was called to come and pick up the animal.
-6:21PM. Deputy received a complaint of a female subject in the 100 block of E Locust Street displaying a TASER in front of children. Deputy spoke with the female.

Saturday August 1, 2020
-10:04AM. Officer assisted Ogden First Responders at 102 E. Locust St.
-11:15AM. Officer cited Chalon Engleen, 57, of Ogden, at 619 NW 4th St. for alleged nuisance property.
-1:30PM. Officer removed debris from the roadway in the 700 blk of 216th st.
-2:53PM. Officer assisted a Boone County Deputy with a fight at Don Williams Park.
-4:00PM. Officer did a welfare check on an animal at 332 SW 7th St. Place. The animal had food and water.
-5:37PM. Officer attempted to locate a reckless driver between Boone and Ogden. Officer was unable to locate.

Sunday August 2, 2020
-9:00AM. Deputy received a complaint from an Ogden resident in regards to a phone scam the resident had just received.
-5:26PM. Officer received a report of a possible disabled vehicle at the westbound 220th off-ramp to H Avenue. The subjects were fine, they were changing a child’s diaper.
7:40PM. Officer received a complaint of burning. Subject was burning brush. Officer advised of burn ordinance and the subject put the fire out.
-9:33PM. Officer checked on a disabled vehicle in the 300 block of west Walnut Street. The driver had a tow truck coming to assist him.

-9:58AM. Officer returned phone call to Ogden resident regarding child being harassed via an internet game.
-2:13PM. Officer investigated a 2-vehicle accident at S 1st and Veterans. There was less than $1,500 damage, so no state report was filed.
-6:15PM. Deputy received a complaint from an Ogden resident of being harassed by another parent due to an incident that happened between their kids.

Wednesday July 15, 2020
-8:02AM. ACCURA Health administrator reported an altercation that had taken place between two (2) residents on Monday, July 13, 2020. There were no injuries.
-11:10AM. Officer spoke with Ogden resident about cleaning up property.

Thursday July 16, 2020
-8:30AM. Officer received a report of a possible accident in the 700 block of H Avenue. The officer checked the area and there were no vehicles around.
-4:28PM. Deputy received a complaint of 2 old refrigerators sitting in backyard at 520 S 1st Street. The deputy advised he would talk with landlord tomorrow.

Friday July 17, 2020
-7:58AM. Ogden officer spoke with landlord about 2 refrigerators that are sitting in backyard of a rental property. Landlord advised he would move the refrigerators.
-8:40AM. Subject turned in a chain saw that he watched fall out of the back of a pickup truck as it turned east on Walnut Street from NW 4th Street. The chain saw may be claimed at Ogden Police Department.
-11:45AM. Officer received a report of an adult male and a 10-year-old male child, who was nude, standing on shoulder of eastbound lane of 220th Street on west side of river. Officer and deputy checked the area and were unable to locate the individuals.

Saturday July 18, 2020
-11:59AM. Officer was asked to check on welfare of 2 dogs that were outside. The dogs were inside house, when officer arrived, and were in good shape.
-2:55PM. Officer assisted Boone County Deputy with a car verses motorcycle accident resulting in minor personal injury at J Avenue and 216th Drive.

Sunday July 19, 2020
-1:25PM. Officer assisted Boone County Deputy with a car/deer accident in 1300 block of H Avenue.
-2:45PM. Officer located a water leak at NW 2nd and Chestnut. Officer notified Ogden Municipal Utilities.
-3:35PM. Officer was asked to look for a vehicle all over the road from 290th Street northbound on H Avenue. Officer was unable to locate the vehicle.
-3:47PM. Officer assisted stranded motorist in the 600 block of 260th Street.
-10:37PM. Deputy responded to a male juvenile out of control at 413 W Division Street

Monday July 6, 2020
-9:17AM. Ogden resident reported receiving a phone scam. Someone called claiming his social security number had been breached and he needed a new one. The caller gave no information out.
-10:21AM. Officer spoke with resident regarding property needing mowed.
-12:05PM. Officer assisted Ogden First Responders and Boone County Ambulance.
-1:00PM. Officer opened Community Center for Life Serve Blood Drive.
-4:24PM. Ogden resident reported that his 12-year-old daughter had been sexually assaulted in Boone on July 4, 2020. Officer advised the subject to contact Boone Police Officer.

Tuesday July 7, 2020
-9:45AM. An Ogden resident reported receiving a phone call from someone claiming to be from the Social Security Administration. The subject claimed that Ogden resident’s social security number had been compromised. The Ogden resident did not give out any information, because he thought this was a scam. The officer advised this is a scam.

Wednesday July 8, 2020
-9:00AM. Officer assisted Boone County Deputies, Ogden First Responders, Ogden Fire, Boone County Ambulance and Iowa State Patrol with a 2-vehicle accident at H Avenue and 170th Street resulting in a fatality and personal injury.
-11:00AM. James Walters reported that someone took his 1988 Chevrolet 1500 truck from outside of his residence after 10:30PM on Monday, July 6, 2020 and before 9AM Tuesday, July 7, 2020.
-11:38AM. Officer investigated a 2-vehicle accident in the 400 block of E Maple Street. Judy Keel, 61, of Ogden was backing her 2005 Chevrolet out of a driveway and struck a 2004 Chevrolet driven by Dennis Good, 59, of Ogden who was eastbound on Maple Street. There was approximately $2000.00 damage to the Keel vehicle and approximately $3,000.00 damage to the Good vehicle.
-4:30PM. Boone County Conservation Officer located 1988 Chevrolet pickup that had been reported stolen earlier. The truck was located at Don Williams Lake campsite, near the bath house.

Thursday July 9, 2020
-11:16AM. Ogden resident reported receiving a call from someone claiming to be from the Social Security Administration and requesting resident to verify his social security number. The resident did not give out any information, knowing this is a scam.

Friday July 10, 2020
-8:45AM. Officer received a report of a suspicious vehicle that was parked in the 200 block of NE 2nd Street. This vehicle turned out to be a vehicle that was reported stolen from a rural Boone County address on July 7, 2020. The owner was notified to come and get the truck.
-9:40AM. Officer picked up a small dog that was running loose and returned to owner.
-3:42PM. Officer received a written complaint about condition of a property.
-6:04PM. Deputy returned a phone call to an Ogden resident who had questions about taking his son to be tested for drug use.
-11:22PM. Deputy assisted subject locked out of vehicle.

-4:14PM. Deputy responded to a report of loud music at 602 W Cherry Street. Deputy advised subjects having a cookout to turn the music down.
-10:54PM. Deputy responded to an intrusion alarm at Dollar General. This was set off by an employee who was locking up for the evening.

-2:40PM.  Officer spoke with Ogden resident in regard to his parking a trailer in the alley.  Subject said the trailer would be gone tonight.

 

Tuesday June 30, 2020

-12:25PM.  Ogden officer and Ogden Fire were dispatched to a fire alarm at Ogden Middle/High School.  Billy Olesen, Custodial Superintendent, called and advised this was a false alarm.

-1:55PM.  Officer assisted Ogden First Responders and Boone County Ambulance with a medical call in the 900 block of H Avenue.

-7:51PM.  Deputy received a complaint of a beaver in a garden in the 200 block of SW 6th Street.

-10:00PM. Deputy received a complaint of fireworks in the Northwest part of town.

-9:05AM. Officer assisted a stranded motorist at 619 NW 3rd St.

-8:58PM. Deputy received a complaint of fireworks on the SE side of Ogden.

-3:11PM. Officer checked on a suspicious vehicle in the 100 blk of W. Locust St.

-4:33PM. Deputy investigated a burglary at 244 Haws Dr. Unit C6

-7:51PM Deputy investigated a suspicious person in the 200 blk of NE 4th St. Place

-9:47PM. Deputy investigated a complaint of Fireworks going off in the 200 blk of SW 2nd St.

-9:53PM. Deputy investigated a complaint of fireworks in the 500 blk of E. Oak St.

-10:04PM. Deputy investigated a complaint of fireworks in the 100 blk of W. Veterans.

-4:00PM.  Officer received a report of an incomplete 911 from an Ogden residence.  The officer contacted resident and there was a small child playing with the phone.  There was no emergency,

-6:12PM. Deputy investigated a complaint of forgery at 208 NE 3rd St.

Thursday June 25, 2020
10:54AM. Officer investigated a 2-vehicle accident at 1st and Walnut. Mahbub Khoda, 60, of Ames was stopped at the northbound stop sign on first street and Walnut. He was driving a 2020 Toyota and pulled away from the stop sign in front of a 2002 Chevrolet driven by Gabrielle Ross, 18, of Ogden, who was westbound on Walnut Street. There was approximately $5,000.00 damage to the Khoda vehicle and approximately $1,000.00 damage to the Ross vehicle.
-2:35PM. An Ogden resident turned in a cell phone at Ogden Police Department. The officer returned the phone to owner.

Friday June 26, 2020
-8:26SAM. Officer assisted Ogden First Responders and Boone County Ambulance.
-1:35PM. Officer received a complaint of a young boy riding a battery-operated car in the Ogden High School parking lot and on West Division Street. The officer spoke with the boy and his mother and advised that he could not ride the car on the street, he can only ride on their own property.
-2:30PM. A set of keys with a plastic tag on the key ring were turned in at Ogden City Hall. The keys were found on West Sycamore.

Saturday June 27, 2020
-1:20AM. Officer spoke with 2 male juveniles that were out walking. The officer took their names and advised them that curfew is midnight and told them to go home.
-9:33AM. Officer spoke with Ogden resident about property maintenance.

-5:55PM. Ogden resident reported they had caught a stray cat. The officer called the Boone Area Humane Society to come and get.
-10:10PM. Officer received a complaint of fireworks coming from SE corner of town. The officer was unable to locate the source.
-10:30PM. Officer was asked to check on welfare of an Ogden resident. The subject was fine.

-8:55AM. Ogden resident turned in a driver license that she had found while walking.
Officer returned license to owner.

-8:05AM Officer assisted a stranded motorist at 402 E. Walnut St.
-3:35PM. Officer spoke to 3 juveniles reference riding their bikes on the steps at the Community center.

Tuesday June 16, 2020
-7:38AM. Officer received a complaint of a possible gas leak in the 600 block of west Cherry Street. The officer paged out Ogden Fire Department and they located an LP tank that had been left on. The tank was shut off.
-10:12PM. Deputies responded to a report of a loud party at 602 E Walnut Street. The deputies advised subjects to turn the music down.
-10:55PM. Deputies received another complaint of loud music at 602 E Walnut Street. The deputies advised the party was over and to shut down for the evening.

Wednesday June 17, 2020
-8:45AM. Officer received a complaint of junk on a property.
-10:54AM. Officer provided traffic control while a semi-tractor-trailer backed into a residence in the 500 bock of south First Street.

-5:02PM. Officer assisted stranded motorist.

-12:40PM. Officer assisted stranded motorist in the 400 block of east Walnut Street.

Saturday June 20, 2020
-1:05PM. Ogden resident stopped officer and asked why there was nobody chipping brush. The officer advised the chipper was broke down and Ogden Municipal Utilities is attempting to rent one and they will go around town and chip brush during the week, if/when they are able to get a chipper.
-2:50PM. Officer received a complaint of property not being mowed.

Monday June 8, 2020

-5:50AM.  Officer assisted Ogden First Responders and Boone County Ambulance.

-11:35AM.  Officer received a report that an elderly woman had been in a fight with her adult daughter.  The elderly woman has mental issues and agreed to let her granddaughter take her back to Des Moines.

 

Tuesday June 9, 2020

-5:36PM.  Ogden resident asked officer to have subject move car off of grass.

-6:16PM.  Officer received a complaint from a parent that his daughter had walked away from his supervised visitation and he wanted her brought back.  The officer spoke with the DHS worker and she advised the girl is not required to be there and she does not want to be around her dad.

 

Wednesday June 10, 2020

-12:57AM.  Officer provided traffic control, while street department removed tree from the 700 block of west Elm Street.

-8:50AM.  Officer received a report of a subject slumped over the steering wheel of a blue van.  The van had pulled off the road on the westbound 220th off-ramp to H Avenue.  The van was gone before officer arrived.

-11:26AM.  Ogden resident called and reported that she had caught a shepherd mix dog running loose in the 300 block of SW 3rd Street.  The officer returned the dog to owner.

-2:30PM.  Officer provided traffic control, while street department moved tree limb from roadway in 200 block of NE 4th Street.

-8:37PM.  Officer received a complaint of a male juvenile on the railroad tracks in the 100 block of west Walnut Street.  The officer warned the boy that he was trespassing.

-1:30PM.  Officer returned phone call to a subject in regards to an abandoned car on private property.

 

Friday June 12, 2020

-11:50AM.  Officer assisted Ogden First Responders and Boone County Ambulance.

-3:25PM.  Officer assisted Boone County Deputy with a 2 vehicle accident at 220th and G Avenue.  This was a property damage accident only.

Monday June 1, 2020

-1:11PM.  Officer responded to a complaint of a lawn care subject spraying on a windy day.  The officer spoke with the lawn care specialist and he was putting down dry fertilizer and spot spraying for dandelions.  This was his last lawn for the day.

-3:45PM.  Officer returned phone call to subject.  This turned out to be a civil issue.

-4:02PM.  Officer responded to an intrusion alarm at Ogden Municipal Utilities.  This was set off by an employee.

-4:03PM.  Officer assisted subject locked out of vehicle.

-5:33PM.  Officer responded to an incomplete 911 at an Ogden residence. Everything was fine at the residence.  There was no emergency.

-6:26PM.  Officer received a complaint of subjects putting up a fence at 101 W Cherry and had not called One Call or applied for a permit.  The officer spoke with owner of the property and he advised he would speak with his renters, as they did not ask permission to put up a fence.

 

Tuesday June 2, 2020

-1:15AM.  Officer received a complaint that male subject in a black/red shirt attempted to get into a vehicle in the 200 block of SW 7th Street.  The subject took off east on foot.  The officer was unable to locate the subject.

-5:05AM.  Deputy removed a bat from an Ogden residence.

-7:30AM.  Officer spoke with Ogden resident about junk vehicles on her property.  She said they are not hers and would like them removed.  Officer sent letters to the last registered owner to have the vehicles removed.

-8:55AM.  Officer was asked to assist Boone County Deputies with a single vehicle accident at D Avenue and 220th Street.  The officer located the accident on the east side of the overpass just east of Grand Junction.  Greene County Sheriff’s Department was notified to come and take care of the property damage only accident.

-9:29PM.  Deputy assisted motorist with flat tire.

-9:30PM.  Deputy assisted subject at Leonard A Good Community Center locking the building.

 

Wednesday June 3, 2020

-12:50PM.  Officer received a call from an Ogden resident, that she had caught a dog that was running loose and had it inside her home.  The officer knew where the dog belonged and returned the dog to owner.

 

Thursday June 4, 2020

-12:35PM Officer investigated a complaint of harassment.

-5:36PM. Deputies assisted Ogden First Responders at 331 SW 3rd St.

 

Friday June 5, 2020

-7:16AM. Officer assisted Ogden Street Dept with a downed tree in the road in the 100 blk of SW 5th St.

-7:32AM. Officer assisted the Ogden Phone Co with a downed tree against a utility pole in the 200 blk of SW 7th St.

-1:38PM. Officer removed a large bag of waste in the roadway at SW 4th and W. Division St.

-10:10AM.  Officer assisted Ogden First Responders and Boone County Ambulance

-1:19PM.  Officer received a complaint of reckless driving.  The complainant and the offending vehicle had both pulled into the Casey’s parking lot.  The offending vehicle took off east bound on 220th Street.  A Boone County Deputy stopped the vehicle a short time later.

-1:44PM.  Officer assisted Ogden First Responders and Boone County Ambulance.

-3:34PM.  Officer assisted Boone County Deputy with an intoxicated subject in the 1700 block H Avenue.
