.-10:59AM.  Officer assisted Boone County Ambulance with a patient transfer.

-4:45PM.  Deputies assisted Ogden First Responders and Boone County Ambulance.

-8:13PM.  Deputy received a report from Ogden resident of harassment via snapchat.  The deputy advised the subject to block the subject.

 

Tuesday January 21, 2020

-11:20AM. Dr. Pam Dodge, Superintendent Ogden Schools, reported that someone had hacked into the school computer.  This case is under investigation.

 

Wednesday January 22, 2020

-1:06PM.  Officer received a report of a subject sitting in a vehicle that was parked in the traveled portion of the road in the 300 block of SW 4th Street.  The officer checked on the individual and he was a worker going around campaigning for Joe Biden.  The officer advised subject not to park in the traveled portion of road.

 

Thursday January 23, 2020

-12:45PM.  Officer assisted Ogden First Responders and Boone County Ambulance at ACCURA Health.

-5:15PM.  Officer arrested Deacon Smith-Downs, 28, of Ogden on an outstanding warrant.  Deputy picked up Downs and took to Boone County Jail.

 

Friday January 24, 2020

-7:23AM.  Officer assisted subject that had gone into the ditch on the westbound 220th Street on-ramp from H Avenue.

-10:45AM.  Officer provided a funeral escort from St John Church to the St. John Catholic Cemetery.

-No reported activity.

 

Sunday January 26, 2020

-2:00AM.  Deputy received a report of a hit and run accident at 520 S 1st Street.  Melynda Kruger, 23, of Ogden reported that some unknown person struck her 2007 Ford Taurus and left the scene.  There is approximately $5,000.00 damage to the Kruger vehicle.

-9:27AM.  Deputy responded to a report of a large item in the traveled portion of the roadway in the 600 block of East Walnut Street.  The item was gone upon deputy’s arrival.

-12:26PM.  Deputy received a report of a possible sexual assault.  This case is under investigation.

-12:50PM.  An Ogden resident called to report she had caught a large brown/white dog with an orange tracking collar.  The deputy picked up the dog and took to City Kennel.  The dog was later taken to the Boone Area Humane Society.

PSA:  Ogden residents are reminded to clear snow off of sidewalks from edge to edge within 48 hours of when snow stops falling.  Business owners are required to remove snow within 24 hours of when snow stops falling.

-1:42PM.  Officer responded to an incomplete 911 call from an Ogden residence.  There was no emergency and there seemed to be some issue with the answering machine.

-3:25PM. Officer assisted stranded motorist.

 

Tuesday January 14, 2020

-10:48PM.  Officer received a complaint of a Ram pickup truck driving at a high rate of speed down SE 4th Street.  Officer located the vehicle and talked to the driver about his driving habits.

 

Wednesday January 15, 2020

-10:12AM.  Officer investigated a 2-vehicle accident in the Ogden High School parking lot.  Hallie Conis, 17, of Pilot Mound was driving a 1977 Ford when she slid on the ice covered road and hit an unoccupied 2007 Ford owned by Jeff Thede.  There was no damage to the Conis vehicle and approximately $1,500.00 damage to the Thede vehicle.

-10:45AM.  Officer assisted stranded motorist.

-2:30PM.  Officer assisted subject locked out of vehicle.

-2:45PM.  Officer assisted motorist that was out of gas.

-3:08PM.  Officer received a complaint of a vehicle driving erratically northbound on H Avenue from 300th Street.  The officer stopped the vehicle in the 1200 block of H Avenue.  The driver was not impaired.

 

Thursday January 16, 2020

-6:53AM.  Officer assisted subject locked out of vehicle.

-1:57PM.  An Ogden resident called to say that her dog had got loose and she was headed to work.  The resident called back 15 minutes later and advised she caught the dog and put back in her residence.

 

Friday January 17, 2020

-1:00PM.  Officer assisted motorist that was stuck in the snow.

-1:30PM.  Officer assisted motorist that was stuck in the snow.

 

Saturday January 18, 2020

-3:45PM.  Deputy investigated a 2 vehicle accident in the 100 block of east Sycamore Street.  Gerald Cooper, 62, of Ogden was backing his 2004 Jeep out of his driveway, when he struck a 1988 Chevrolet truck which was parked on the traveled portion of the roadway.  The Chevrolet truck is owned by James Walters, 62, of Ogden.

-1:47PM.  Deputy received a complaint from a subject in regards to a card being stuck in the ATM at Vision Bank.  Deputy made contact with an employee of Vision Bank to have the card removed from the ATM.

Monday January 6, 2020

-10:06AM.  Officer responded to 332 SW 7th Street Place in ref to a domestic disturbance that happened the previous night.  The officer advised he would have the responding deputy stop by early this evening.

-12:28PM.  Officer was asked to check on welfare of an Ogden Elementary student.  The student showed up at school a short time later.

-3:00PM.  Officer received a barking dog complaint at 620 W Elm Street.  The officer talked with owner of the dogs and they will try and quiet them down.

 

Tuesday January 7, 2020

-8:53PM.  Officer responded to a domestic situation at 822 N 1st Street.  This was an argument between mother and teenage son.  The son had calmed down after officer arrived.  There were no charges.

-9:39PM.  Ogden resident at 232 SW 6th building 2 #1 reported that 2 juveniles were pounding on his door and ran off.  One of the juveniles was wearing a blue hoodie and the other had a white t-shirt and wearing a head band with afro like hair.  The officer was unable to locate the juveniles.

 

Wednesday January 8, 2020

-4:06PM.  Officer received a report of a male juvenile being assaulted by another male juvenile.

-9:28PM.  Deputy was asked to check on welfare of Ogden resident.  The subject was not home but had been located and was fine.

 

Thursday January 9, 2020

-9:36AM.  Officer spoke with both juveniles that were involved in the fight yesterday.

-12:45PM.  Officer assisted subject locked out of vehicle.

-2:00PM. Officer received a report that 2 mailboxes had been knocked over in the 300 block of east Mulberry Street.

 

Friday January 10, 2020

-3:38AM.  Deputy assisted Ogden First Responders with a lift assist.

-8:25AM.  Officer received a complaint from an Ogden resident about some posts on Facebook about her son that are not true.  The complainant’s son is a juvenile and the person making the posts is an adult and now her son is being harassed via text messages.

-2:05PM.  Officer assisted Paul Fangman, owner Fang’s Automotive, identify owner of a vehicle that was left in his parking lot.

 

Saturday January 11, 2020

-6:45AM.  Officer assisted Ogden Fire Department with an air flow alarm with fire suppression system at ACCURA Health Care.  The air compressor malfunctioned.

-9:11AM.  Officer asked Ogden resident to move vehicle off of sidewalk.

-2:15PM.  Officer spoke with Ogden resident in regard to unlicensed vehicles being parked on city property.  Officer advised to move the vehicles onto own property.

-3:00PM.  Officer received a complaint from an Ogden resident of a vehicle that has been abandoned on her property.  Officer advised he would start the paperwork to dispose of the vehicle.

 

Sunday January 12, 2020

-8:00AM.  Officer called owner of vehicle that had been parked in front of Ogden business for last 2 days.  Officer asked that vehicle be moved, as there is snow forecast and it is in the way for snow removal.

-12:45PM.  An employee of Casey’s reported that a customer found a glass pipe in the parking.  The officer picked up the pipe, which is used for smoking methamphetamine and destroyed it and disposed of it.

-9:43PM.  Deputy received a report of a pickup truck driving recklessly in the Ogden High School parking lot.  The deputy stopped the vehicle in question and advised to stop sliding around in the snow.

-5:06PM.  Officer took a report from a resident at ACCURA Health of theft of 3 rings from her room.

 

Tuesday December 31, 2019

-7:10AM.  Officer assisted Ogden First Responders and Boone County Ambulance.

-9:35AM.  Officer assisted Ogden First Responders and Boone County Ambulance.

-10:11AM.  Ogden resident called and asked officer to go by his residence and make sure he closed his garage door.  The officer checked the residence and it was secure.

 

Wednesday January 1, 2020

-5:41AM.  Officer assisted a father in locating his daughter at a residence in Ogden.

-6:35AM.  Officer assisted Boone County Deputy with a suspected intoxicated driver.

-11:12AM.  Officer received a report of a suspicious vehicle parked in the alley in 300 block between NE 2nd and NE 3rd Street.  The officer located the driver a short time later.  The driver was visiting a home nearby.

-2:50PM.  Officer took a report from an Ogden resident that a subject that had been living with her took some of her items, when she moved out.  The officer asked the complainant to make a list of everything that was missing and he would talk with the individual.

-3:21PM.  Officer assisted subject locked out of vehicle.

-7:25PM.  Jeffrey Orrell, 307 SE 4th, called to report that someone had shut the breaker off for his backyard lights.  He did not wish to speak with an officer, but would like extra patrol.

-3:34PM Officer assisted Boone County Ambulance on a medical call at 220 SW 9th St.

-8:05PM. Deputies investigated a domestic dispute at 502 S. 1st St.

-9:59AM. Officer investigated vandalism to a street sign at NE 3rd St. and Walnut St.

-10:50AM. Officer assisted the Boone Police Dept locate the owner and driver of a vehicle wrecked and abandoned in the city of Boone.

Monday December 23, 2019

-12:00PM.  Officer responded to an incomplete 911 call from 220 SW 7th Street.  This was determined to be a small child playing with cordless phone.

-12:45PM.  Officer received a complaint of Ogden resident burning leaves.  Officer advised the resident of city ordinance and had him extinguish the fire.

-12:55PM.  Officer received a complaint of subject burning.  Officer advised subject of ordinance and had him extinguish the fire.

-1:15PM.  Ogden resident reported that 2 juveniles were knocking on his door last evening about 10:15PM and then ran away.  The resident said this has happened in the past.

-3:15PM.  Officer spoke with Ogden resident about burning.  Officer advised the resident of city ordinance and had him extinguish the fire.

-6:55PM.  Deputy assisted Ames Police by stopping at an Ogden residence and having the resident return a call to Ames Officer.

 

Tuesday December 24, 2019

-12:50PM.  Officer spoke with an Ogden resident about burning leaves.  The officer advised the resident of city ordinance and advised not to add any more leaves to fire.

-10:56AM.  Officer received a complaint of a male and a female sitting inside of a white vehicle in the driveway at 619 NW 4th Street.  The complainant thought it looked like the 2 people were having an argument.  The vehicle and subjects were gone upon officer’s arrival.

-1:20PM.  Officer assisted Ogden First Responders and Boone County Ambulance, with  a subject that had fallen and hurt his ankle.  Subject was transported to Boone County Hospital.

-9:41PM.  Officer assisted Ogden First Responders and Boone County Ambulance with a subject that had fallen and needed help getting back up.

-9:36AM. Officer investigated vandalism to a street sign in the 200 blk of S 1st St.

-8:24AM.  Officer received a report of a chicken on the front porch of 219 W Sycamore Street.  Officer called subject who has chickens to come and pick up.

-9:14PM.  Officer assisted Greene County Deputies with a high speed chase that was east bound on 220th.  The Greene County Deputies had vehicle stopped prior to officer’s arrival.

 

Friday December 20, 2019

-10:45AM.  Officer picked up a 20” boys bike that had been in the parking lot at Methodist Church for a couple months.  The officer took the bike to the city shed.

-2:07PM.  Officer found a child’s camouflage jacket at the city park.  The officer took the jacket to the city hall.

 

Saturday December 21, 2019

-12:53AM.  Officer assisted Boone County Deputy with a domestic situation at 43 300th Street.

-7:00AM.  Officer received a complaint of a vehicle driving fast and making bad passes northbound on H Avenue from 270th Street.  The vehicle reportedly had pulled into Caseys.  The officer spoke with the driver.  The driver denied making any bad passes.

-1:20PM.  Chris Jones reported that someone is dumping garbage into his field north of intersection of NE 3rd and Cherry Street.

-4:10PM.  Officer received a report of a white pit bull dog with a black mark on eye running loose in the 300 block of N 1st Street.  The officer was unable to locate the dog.

-4:52PM.  Officer assisted Boone County Deputies, Ogden First Responders, Ogden Fire and Boone County Ambulance with a 2-vehicle accident at L Avenue and 220th Street.

 

Sunday December 22, 2019

-7:35AM.  Officer arrested Edwin W Cannon, 18, of Altoona for Driving Under Suspension and Failure to have SR Insurance on file.

-12:30PM.  Steve Kindred reported that his vehicle was backed into while he was at gas pumps at Caseys General Store.  The vehicle that ran into him had left the scene, but witnesses were able to get the plate number.  Officer was able to make contact with the suspect and she returned and spoke with Mr. Kindred.  There was minor damage done to both vehicles.

-4:16PM.  Officer responded to an incomplete 911 call from 208 NE 3rd Street.  This was a verbal argument between mother and teenage daughter.  The daughter went to grandma’s house for the night.

-11:57PM.  Officer assisted Ogden First Responders and Boone County Ambulance.

Wednesday December 11, 2019

-7:58AM.  Officer received a report of a male juvenile playing near a construction site at SW 2nd and Division Street. The subject was gone upon officer’s arrival.

-9:22AM.  Manager of Dollar General reported that an ex-employee would not return keys to the store.  Officer spoke with the ex-employee and picked up the keys and returned to the manager.

-1:20PM.  Officer spoke with an Ogden resident about moving a small trailer filled with junk off city parking and moving lawnmowers from city parking also.

-7:34PM.  Officer notified the Union Pacific that crossing arms at 1st Street crossing were malfunctioning.

-10:40AM.  Officer received a report from Zion Lutheran Church personnel, that someone was dumping garbage in their dumpster.  Officer located a name in a garbage bag and spoke with the individual and advised to stop or charges will be filed.

-5:02PM.  Officer assisted subject locked out of vehicle.

 

Friday December 13, 2019

-11:05AM.  Officer received a complaint from a citizen about parked vehicles in the 500 block of west Locust Street blocking vision of vehicles southbound on NW 6th Street at Locust Street.  Officer spoke with owner of vehicles and asked if he could move the vehicles further north.

-6:53PM.  Officer received a complaint of a vehicle traveling north on H Avenue from 270th Street and the vehicle has no tail lights.  The officer stopped the vehicle and the driver was able to correct the problem.

-7:50PM.  Officer assisted stranded motorist.

 

Saturday December 14, 2019

-10:57AM.  Ogden resident reported that someone entered his residence during the night and stole his cellular phone and a Smith and Wesson 22 semi-automatic pistol with approximately 100 rounds of ammunition.

-4:32PM.  Deputy responded to an incomplete 911 from a cellular phone that was mapping to the parking lot on north side of Ogden High School/Middle School.  Deputy located individuals and it was a child using the phone.

 

Sunday December 15, 2018

-2:18AM.  Boone County Deputies and Ogden Officer respond to an intrusion alarm at Swanson Drug.  Upon Deputies arrival, they observed the front window had been broken.  It appears some drugs were taken, but will have to do an inventory to know which ones for sure.

-1:42PM.  Officer responded to an incomplete 911 from Church of Christ.  This turned out to be children playing with the phone.

-10:40AM.  Officer provided traffic control for Chris Jones, as he moved cattle from west side of H Avenue, north of Ogden, to the east side of H Avenue.

 

Tuesday December 3, 2019

-1:40PM.  Officer assisted Fang’s Automotive with an abandoned vehicle.

-5:39PM.  Officer received a complaint of a barking dog at 320 S 1st Street.  Officer spoke with owner of the dog.  The owner advised he would put a bark collar on the dog.

-6:38PM.  Ogden resident reported he had caught a dog running loose in the 200 block of SW 7th Street.  The owner was notified and came and picked up the dog.

 

Wednesday December 4, 2019

-2:24AM.  Ogden officer and Boone County Deputies responded to a reported Breaking and Entering at 443 E Sycamore Street.  Jessica Peterson reported that Christopher Christian had broken into her home.  Deputy arrested Christian for Criminal Trespass and Criminal Mischief-5th.

 

Thursday December 5, 2019

-5:43AM.  Ogden officer and Boone County Deputy assisted Ogden First Responders and Boone County Ambulance at 114 W Sycamore Street.

-10:00AM.  Betty Brockett, 58, of Ogden reported that she had been physically assaulted and spit on by a Jay Rothmeyer, 61, a resident of ACCURA Health.  Officer cited Rothmeyer with simple assault and released with a court appearance.

10:54AM.  Officer assisted Ogden First Responders and Boone County Ambulance at 307 SW 3rd Street.

-3:07PM.  Officer received a report of possible fraud.

-3:50PM.  Officer was asked to check on welfare of an Ogden resident.  The subject was fine.

-6:07PM.  Officer assisted Boone County Deputy, Ogden First Responders, Ogden Fire Department and Boone County Ambulance with an accident involving personal injury in the 700 block of 220th Street westbound.

 

Friday December 6, 2019

-10:52AM.  Officer was asked to check on welfare of an Ogden resident, because his vehicle was home, but he was not.  The subject was located.  He was given a ride to a doctor appointment.

-2:45PM.  Officer received a report from an Ogden resident, that his garage door was open when he came home from work, but it didn’t appear that anything was missing.

-6:13PM.  Deputy responded to a report of an open door on residence at 602 SE 2nd Street.  The family dog was out running around and nobody appeared to be at home.  The deputy secured the residence.

-3:00PM.  Officer received a report of pieces of metal on the traveled portion eastbound 220th on-ramp from H Avenue.  The material was actually pieces of plastic, that officer picked up and brought back to town and threw away.

 

Tuesday November 19, 2019

-7:45AM. Officer handled a parking complaint at NW 4th St and West Walnut St.

-1:00PM. Officer handled an animal complaint at the Ogden Community Center.

-8:34PM. Deputy handled an animal complaint at 202 West Chestnut St.

-2:29AM. Deputy responded to an intrusion alarm at 229 W. Locust St.  This was determined to be a false alarm.

-7:21AM. Deputy handled a civil matter at 413 W. Cherry St.

-2:50PM. Officer investigated possible harassment at Accura Health. No harassment occurred.

-3:48PM. Officer spoke to a subject about property clean up in the 100 block of SW 8th Street.

-11:55AM.  Officer assisted Boone County Deputy with a traffic stop in the 800 block of 220th Street.

-12:39PM.  Deputy assisted Ogden First Responders.

-1:19AM.  Officer responded to an Ogden resident for a possible domestic assault.  This was a verbal argument only.  No charges were filed and neither party wanted to leave the residence for the rest of the night.

-8:30AM.  Officer received a report of a raccoon that had been hit by a vehicle in the 200 block of West Elm Street.  The officer disposed of the raccoon.
