-8:31PM.  Deputies responded to a report of a 17-year-old female that had run away from her home at 208 NE 3rd Street.  The mother called back a short time later advising the girl was back home.

-3:49PM. Officer assisted a stranded motorist in the 600 blk of W. Sycamore St.

-3:59PM. Officer investigated possible harassment at 1st and Walnut St.

 

Thursday March 26, 2020

-7:24AM. Deputy handled an animal complaint at 120 W. Mulberry St.

-8:50AM. Officer handled a parking complaint in the 600 blk of N 1st St.

-1:23PM. Officer investigated a complaint of a stolen vehicle from 301 NE 3rd St.

-1:31PM. Officer handled a parking complaint at 432 S 1st St.

-8:55PM. Deputies investigated a domestic dispute at 102 SW 7th St.

-9:28PM. Deputies investigated a suspicious person in the area of 413 E. Sycamore St. Deputies were unable to locate anyone.

 

Friday March 27, 2020

-8:14AM.  Officer received a complaint of 2 male subjects in a white van in the parking lot at the old Howe Elementary Building on SE 2nd Street.  The subjects were just there looking over the property.

-8:50AM.  Officer returned phone call to Polk County Sheriff’s Office in regards to they had located the vehicle that was reported stolen on Thursday.  Polk County arrested Jason Kruse, 26, of Nevada and Ricky Pint, 43, of Webster City for Theft 2nd Degree.

-11:47AM.  Ogden resident called to report that his son’s girlfriend had property belonging to his son.  The officer spoke with the female and she returned the items.

-8:08PM.  Deputies responded to a report of 2 vehicles stop in the traveled portion of road in the 100 block of S 1st Street and the occupants were outside of the vehicles yelling profanities and fighting.  The vehicles were gone upon deputies arrival.

-11:11AM. Officer spoke with a Ogden Resident about property clean up.

-2:46PM. Officer assisted Ogden First Responders at 619 Haws Dr. #5

-7:13PM. Deputy investigated vandalism at 420 Elm St.

 

Tuesday March 17, 2020

-12:52PM. Officer assisted Dallas County Sheriff’s Department locate a vehicle involved in a theft of gas from one of their businesses. Officer located the vehicle and the driver returned to pay.

 

Wednesday March 18, 2020

-2:14PM.  Officer assisted Ogden First Responders and Boone County Ambulance.

 

Thursday march 19, 2020

-1:30PM.  Ogden Community Schools reported 3 male subjects were seen on High School Grounds.  Officer was able to identify the vehicles and notified subjects that all High School Facilities are closed until at least April 13, 2020.  This includes track, ball fields, and playgrounds.

 

Friday March 20, 2020

-11:00AM.  A subject called and asked to speak with an officer in regards to a civil matter.  The officer advised the subject to contact his attorney.

-1:10PM.  Officer responded to a possible trespassing situation.  The subject was gone upon officer’s arrival.  The resident wanted the officer to tell the subject that he is not wanted on her property.  The officer located the subject and made him aware he is not wanted on the complainant’s property.

-3:15PM.  Officer returned call to Ogden resident in regards to a harassment issue.

Sunday March 22, 2020

-11:36AM.  Officer received a request from Boone Area Humane Society to check on welfare of a Pit-Bull dog in Ogden.  The Humane Society had received an email that an Ogden resident was going to shoot his dog and dump into a ditch.  The officer spoke with the owner of the dog and looked at dog.  The owner has no intention of shooting the dog.

-9:15PM.  Deputies assisted Ogden First Responders at 513 NE 4th Street.

-10:37PM. Deputy assisted subject locked out of vehicle.

Monday March 9, 2020

-7:34AM.  Deputy investigated a 2-vehicle accident at 1st and Walnut Street.

 

Tuesday March 10, 2020

-7:35AM.  Officer received a report of a female with a flat tire at Casey’s General Store.  Officer and Mike Carson changed the tire for the female.

-11:53AM.  Officer received a report of a white Grand Prix heading north on NW 7th with the passenger door open and a female inside yelling for help.  The officer located the vehicle at 602 NW 4th Street.  This was a verbal argument and the female was given a ride to Perry by another person living at this residence.

-7:01PM.  Officer and Deputy responded to a possible domestic situation at 425 SE 2nd Street #14.  This was a verbal argument and the female did not want the male to stay as he lives in Des Moines.  The deputy gave the male a ride to Boone.

-8:32PM.  Ogden resident reported someone has been messing around with a screen on her house.  There has been no access gained, but the screen has been moved.

 

Wednesday March 11, 2020

-11:50AM.  Richard Keller, 38, of Grand Junction reported that a male and female had entered into a residence in Ogden, where Keller had been staying.  The male subject pulled a gun and pointed it at Keller.  Keller ran from the residence.  Ogden officer and Boone County Deputies were heading to the residence, when the male and female were reportedly leaving the residence.  Boone County Deputies stopped the vehicle in the 100 block of SE 3rd Street.  The male driver, Jeremy Andrews, 31, of Jefferson was arrested for Driving While Barred and several weapons violations.  There are charges pending on the female, Samantha Peel, 35, of Jefferson.

-6:13PM.  Ogden resident reported being harassed by a fellow employee from work.

-8:28PM.  Officer received a citizen’s complaint about junk on a property.  Officer spoke with owner of property and he is planning on getting a dumpster and cleaning up the property by end of March.

 

Thursday March 12, 2020

-8:03AM.  Officer was called to an Ogden residence for a child out of control and not wanting to go to school.

-3:05PM.  Officer responded to an incomplete 911 from a cellular phone that mapped to weight room at Ogden High School.  Officer spoke with student who had a broken phone that had dialed 911.  There was no emergency.

-3:56PM.  Officer was asked to check on a pedestrian that was walking westbound on 220th from G Avenue and was having trouble staying on shoulder of road due to the wind.  The subject has medical issues that cause him trouble walking, so officer gave a ride to Grand Junction.

 

Friday March 13, 2020

-12:48PM.  Ogden officer and Boone County Deputies stood by at 250th and H Avenue to assist Ogden Fire with traffic control for a controlled burn that had become out of control.

-6:47PM.  Deputy received a report of a 10-year-old boy that was walking along H Avenue.  The boy was walking home to Pilot Mound from school.  The boy’s father showed up a short time later to get the boy.

 

Saturday March 14, 2020

-9:37AM.  Officer spoke with Ogden resident in regard to property.

-2:42PM.  Officer investigated a 2-vehicle accident at NW 7th and Walnut Street.  John Barbier, 52, of Ames was eastbound on Walnut in his 2017 Ford, when he was struck by a 2014 BMW driven by Brady Jessen, 22, of Ogden who was southbound on NW 7th and pulling away from the stop sign.  There was approximately $12,000 damage to Robier vehicle and $2,000 damage to Jessen vehicle.  Jessen was cited for allegedly Failing to yield right of way from stop sign.

-9:43PM.  Deputy responded to a reported hit and run at Spinning Wheels Skating Rink.  The complainant was able to give the deputy the license plate number of the vehicle that struck his vehicle.  The deputy located the vehicle and driver.  The deputy called the complainant to come to location of other vehicle.  There was no damage to either vehicle.  There were no charges filed.

Monday March 2, 2020

-10:00AM.  Skylar Gregory, 16, of Ogden reported that her wallet was stolen out of her car and her debit card was used at a business in Boone on Sunday, March 1, 2020.

-10:40AM.  Kurt Thacker reported that someone had taken some items out of his pickup truck and off his lawn.

-2:00PM.  Officer received a complaint of subject receiving harassing phone calls.

 

Tuesday March 3, 2020

-1:40PM.  Officer observed a Yield Sign that had been knocked down at NW 5th/Elm.

-3:30PM.  Officer was asked to check on welfare of 3 male juveniles that were scene fighting outside of the Elementary School.  The officer located the individuals and they were fine.

 

Wednesday March 4, 2020

-11:52AM.  Dave Dubert of 220 W Veterans reported that he found a notebook computer in a bush behind his house.  The screen was broken on the computer. The computer was tagged as property of Ogden Community Schools.  The officer returned computer to Ogden High School.

-12:31PM.  Officer assisted Ogden First Responders and Boone Fire Ambulance.

-7:13PM.  Deputy was asked to return a phone call in regards to a civil issue.

 

Friday March 6, 2020

-11:17AM. Officer attempted a warrant service at 843 200th St.

-11:28AM. Officer arrested Sondra Millard at 936 I Ave. on a Ogden PD warrant for alleged unauthorized use of a debit card.

-6:15AM. Deputy assisted a stranded motorist at 513 NW 3rd St.

-9:46AM Officer assisted a subject getting into a building.

-11:37AM. Officer assisted a Boone Officer attempt to locate a subject.

-11:51AM. Officer assisted a subject with a child custody issue.

-3:52PM. Officer investigated a complaint of two vehicles speeding and driving careless on highway 169 South of Ogden.

Monday February24, 2020

-3:57PM.  Officer received a report of an adult female and a small girl carrying a bucket and walking along the railroad tracks picking up items.  They were walking west bound from NE 3rd Street Railroad Crossing.  The officer was unable to locate the subjects.

-5:16PM.  Deputy investigated a 2-vehicle accident in 300 block of west Walnut Street.

-6:15PM.  Employee of Community Methodist Church requested that a deputy check on a male subject that was at the church looking for assistance getting to Jefferson, Iowa.

-10:20AM.  Officer took a cat to the Boone Area Humane Society.

-1:13PM.  Brent Buxton reported that someone had forced entry into his shop.

-3:05PM.  Officer caught an opossum at 250 SW 5th Street.  The officer released the animal out in the county.

-9:54AM. Officer investigated a complaint of harassment.

-11:46AM. Officer picked up a loose cat and took to the Boone Humane Society.

-12:28PM. Officer investigated a two vehicle accident in the 100 blk of W. Veterans Dr.  Paul Fangman, 42, of Boone was backing a 2003 Suzuki from a parking stall and struck a 2018 Chevrolet driven by Nichole Smith, 32, of Boone.  There was approximately $5,000.00 damage to the Smith Vehicle and approximately $2,000.00 damage to the Fangman Vehicle.

 

Friday February 28, 2020

-9:45PM. Deputies investigated a complaint of a possible intoxicated driver on W. Walnut St. in Ogden. Deputies located the driver and the vehicle at the Lucky Pig. Deputies arrested John Paul Frank, 55, of Ogden, for alleged interference with official acts and public intoxication and Deputies also arrested Brenda Frank, 54, of Ogden,  for alleged Operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated test refusal.

 

Saturday February 29, 2020

-2:48PM.  Officer received a complaint of a yellow Lab dog running at large in the 200 block of SE 4th.  Officer spoke with the owner and they had caught the dog by time officer arrived.

-3:37PM.  Officer returned wallet to an Ogden resident.

-7:20PM.  Ogden resident reported a possible scam.  Resident reported that a male subject had stopped at his house and was selling for US Distributing, but had no brochure or any information.  The resident was concerned this was not a legitimate salesman.

 

Sunday March 1, 2020

-11:32AM.  Mike McCutcheon reported that someone had forced entry into his residence at 507 NE 3rd Street.  Mike said that he is missing a lot of Green Bay Packer memorabilia, NASCAR memorabilia and a knife collection.

-2:20PM.  Officer checked on a report of a vehicle in the ditch at F Avenue and 230th Street.  The vehicle had gone in the ditch just east of E Avenue.  There was a tow truck on scene upon officer’s arrival.  The subject had looked away from the road and drove into the ditch and his drive shaft broke, while attempting to drive back out.

-7:19PM.  Deputy responded to a domestic situation at 208 NE 3rd Street.  Deputy cited a 16-year-old female for simple assault.

 

Tuesday February 18, 2020

-6:57AM.  Officer assisted Ogden First Responders and Boone County Ambulance.

-8:53AM.  Officer assisted subject locked out of vehicle.

-9:15AM.  Officer received a complaint of a vehicle traveling west on 216th from Boone and was having trouble staying in own lane and driving slowly.  The officer stopped the vehicle in the 400 block of west Walnut.  The driver was fine, just looking at scenery.

-2:00PM.  Officer assisted members of Senior Citizen Center with a problem they were having with AED maintenance.

-3:30PM.  Officer received a complaint of a stray cat.  Officer set a live-trap.

 

Wednesday February 19, 2020

-2:05PM.  Officer responded to 308 SW 7th Street place for a reported domestic situation.  This was a verbal argument only.  The male subject left the residence for a while until his ride was available to take him back to Sioux City.

-4:43PM.  Officer helped resident catch their dog.

 

Thursday February 20, 2020

-10:55AM.  Officer assisted Ogden First Responders and Boone County Ambulance.

-3:45PM.  Ogden resident and his 14 year old son stopped at Ogden PD to report that his son was assaulted by another student while at school today.  The father would like charges filed as this is not the first time.

 

Friday February 21, 2020

-8:12AM. Officer responded to the Ogden High school for an assault investigation. Officer cited a 16 year old male for simple assault.

-7:54PM. Officer responded to 413 W. Division St. for an assault complaint. Officer separated the parties involved for the night.

-9:59PM. Officer assisted a parent with a juvenile matter at 326 E. Mulberry St.

-10:09PM. Officer assisted a citizen with a loose dog at Spinning Wheels skating rink. Officer returned the dog home to its owner.

-8:57AM.  Officer assisted subject locked out of vehicle.

-5:40PM.  Bryant Kirton reported that someone had entered his residence and forced open a cabinet and took several handguns.  This occurred sometime between 2/9/2020 and 2/10/2020.

 

Tuesday February 11, 2020

-10:39AM  Officer responded to a 2-vehicle accident in the 100 block of East Walnut Street.  Sandra Hanson, 69, of Boone was driving a 2010 HIRTA bus westbound on Walnut when she struck a 2017 Jeep driven by Katrena Gillis, who was stopped and delivering mail.  There was approximately $4,000 damage to the Gillis vehicle and $12,500 damage to the bus.

-12:35PM.  Officer assisted Ogden First Responders and Boone Count Ambulance.

-2:22PM.  An Ogden resident called officer to pick up a package that was delivered to his residence by mistake.  The officer took the package to the correct residence.

 

Wednesday February 12, 2020

-12:29PM.  Officer assisted Boone County Deputies with a search warrant.

-1:25PM.  Ogden resident called Ogden officer requesting assistance getting his cat down from a tree.  The cat had been in the tree for 1 ½ days and with the severe cold coming, the owner was concerned for cat’s safety.  Officer called Ogden Municipal Utilities and they sent their best Cat Whisperer and their bucket truck. The cat was retrieved from the tree without incident.

Monday February 3, 2020

-7:39AM.  Officer received a complaint of a semi-tractor-trailer driving east on 220th from Grand Junction.  The semi was reported to be crossing the center line and the white line on the shoulder.  The officer stopped the semi at 222nd Drive and 220th Street.  The driver was not intoxicated and said that he was looking for something in the cab of his truck and that may have been why he crossed the center line.

-11:05AM.  Officer received a complaint of a vehicle that was parked on private property.  Officer attempted to make contact with registered owner.

 

Tuesday February 4, 2020

-11:35AM.  Officer received a complaint of vehicles that were parked in the 100 block of NW 3rd Street.  The vehicles have current registration and are properly parked.

-1:00PM.  Officer was able to speak with owner of vehicle that was reported to be parked on private property without permission on Monday.  The subject had just recently moved to that apartment complex.

-3:00PM.  Officer received a request from a Perry Officer to speak with an Ogden resident about property that a Perry resident had reportedly left in Ogden.  The officer was unable to locate the subject.

-6:33PM.  Deputy responded to a incomplete 911 call from a cellular phone.  The phone mapped in the 100 block of NW 7th Street.

-1:10PM.  Officer reported a water main leak to Ogden Municipal Utilities.

-2:00PM.  Officer returned a call to an Ogden resident in regards to a civil issue.

-4:13PM.  Deputy responded to a complaint of identity theft.

 

Thursday February 6, 2020

-1:06AM.  Deputies assisted Ogden First Responders and Boone County Ambulance.

-7:32AM.  Officer assisted Ogden Fire Department with a Carbon Monoxide Detector that was going off at an Ogden residence.

-8:09AM.  Officer investigated a 2-vehicle accident in the 300 block of NW 4th Street. There was approximately $800 damage to each vehicle.

-2:20PM.  Officer was called to Ogden High School in regards to a student receiving inappropriate text messages.  The officer advised student to block the other person.  The officer also spoke with the other person and advised him to stop sending text to this person.

 

Friday February 7, 2020

-11:09AM.  Officer was asked to do a welfare check on an Ogden resident.  The subject was fine.

-3:50PM.  Officer spoke with resident about parking in the street.  Resident said the vehicle had run out of gas and they would get moved this evening.

-1:34PM.  Deputies were asked to check on the welfare of an Ogden resident.  The subject was fine but had been drinking.

Monday January 27, 2020

-3:00PM.  An Ogden resident filed a complaint with city hall in regards to sidewalks not be cleared in the 300 block of SE 4th Street.  Officer spoke with the property owners.

-3:20PM.  Officer investigated a 2-vehicle accident in the 200 block of NW 3rd Street.  Jennica Vest, 32, of Ames was backing her 2017 Chevrolet out of a parking space and backed into a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica driven by Tracy Clemons, 51, of Ogden who was southbound on NW 3rd Street.  There was approximately $800.00 damage done to the Chevrolet and $800 damage to the Chrysler.

-10:15AM.   Officer received a school bus violation report.  Officer cited 16-year-old male later in the day for unlawful passing of stopped school bus.

 

Wednesday January 29, 2020

-12:14PM.  Jacob Ludwick, 20, of Cedar Rapids called to report that his 1987 Ford F250 was taken from 502 S 1st Street without his permission.  Jacob said that he had received a phone call from Story County Sheriff’s Department that they towed his truck because it was left alongside Highway 30 west of University Boulevard in Ames.  Jacob said that his friend who is working on the truck advised he had parked it at 502 S 1st Street on Tuesday night.

-4:45PM.  Deputies assisted Ogden First Responders and Boone County Ambulance.

-8:13PM.  Deputy received a report from Ogden resident of harassment via snapchat.  The deputy advised the subject to block the subject.

 

Tuesday January 21, 2020

-11:20AM. Dr. Pam Dodge, Superintendent Ogden Schools, reported that someone had hacked into the school computer.  This case is under investigation.

 

Wednesday January 22, 2020

-1:06PM.  Officer received a report of a subject sitting in a vehicle that was parked in the traveled portion of the road in the 300 block of SW 4th Street.  The officer checked on the individual and he was a worker going around campaigning for Joe Biden.  The officer advised subject not to park in the traveled portion of road.

-12:45PM.  Officer assisted Ogden First Responders and Boone County Ambulance at ACCURA Health.

-5:15PM.  Officer arrested Deacon Smith-Downs, 28, of Ogden on an outstanding warrant.  Deputy picked up Downs and took to Boone County Jail.

 

Friday January 24, 2020

-7:23AM.  Officer assisted subject that had gone into the ditch on the westbound 220th Street on-ramp from H Avenue.

-10:45AM.  Officer provided a funeral escort from St John Church to the St. John Catholic Cemetery.

Sunday January 26, 2020

-2:00AM.  Deputy received a report of a hit and run accident at 520 S 1st Street.  Melynda Kruger, 23, of Ogden reported that some unknown person struck her 2007 Ford Taurus and left the scene.  There is approximately $5,000.00 damage to the Kruger vehicle.

-9:27AM.  Deputy responded to a report of a large item in the traveled portion of the roadway in the 600 block of East Walnut Street.  The item was gone upon deputy’s arrival.

-12:26PM.  Deputy received a report of a possible sexual assault.  This case is under investigation.

-12:50PM.  An Ogden resident called to report she had caught a large brown/white dog with an orange tracking collar.  The deputy picked up the dog and took to City Kennel.  The dog was later taken to the Boone Area Humane Society.
