Police Report 8/14/17-8/20/17

Monday August 14, 2017

-4:45PM.  Deputy responded to a report of harassment via Facebook.  The Deputy thought it appeared to be an attempt to hack a Facebook account.

-8:40PM.  Deputy responded to a report of a small child walking alone in the 100 block of SW 2nd street.  The deputy was able to locate the parents, who lived a short distance away.

-9:39AM.  Deputy assisted subject locked out of vehicle.

-4:15PM.  Deputy received a complaint of chickens running loose in the area of NW 7th and Elm Street.  The deputy was unable to locate any chickens.

 

Wednesday August 16, 2017

-1:18PM.  Officer responded to a fire alarm at the Ogden High School.  This was determined to be a false alarm.

-10:03PM.  Officer assisted subject with her dogs that had gotten away from her.

 

Thursday August 17, 2017

-2:10PM.  Officer received a report of a black Miniature Pinscher dog running at large at SW 5th and Oak Street.  The officer was unable to catch the animal.  The officer notified the owner where the dog was last seen.

-3:42PM.  Officer was asked to do a welfare check on an Ogden resident.  The officer had to call landlord to gain access to apartment.  The officer found subject lying on the floor and called for Ogden First Responders and Boone County Ambulance.  The subject was taken to Boone County Hospital.

-10:10AM.  Officer assisted subject locked out of his vehicle.

-9:36AM.  Officer assisted Ogden First Responders and Boone County Ambulance at Accura Health Care.

-1:35PM.  Officer spoke with resident and landlord of 220 SW 4th Street about the condition of the property.

 

Sunday August 20, 2017

-2:40PM.  Officer received a complaint of weeds on property at 619 W Elm Street.  The officer spoke with resident at this address and she advised she is in the process of cutting the weeds down.

-3:05PM.  Officer received a report of a juvenile boy that had runaway.  The boy returned home a short time later.

Monday May 22, 2017

-4:48PM. A coat was found behind Vision Bank and was turned over to the Ogden Police Department.

-7:18PM. Officer received a report of a suicidal male. Officer rode along in the ambulance as the subject was combative.

-10:09PM. Officer checked on a vehicle in the Glenwood Cemetery. Subjects were from out of state and visiting family grave.

-11:15PM. Officer assisted Boone County Deputy with a traffic stop at 1017 170th Street.

 

Tuesday May 23, 2017

-11:20AM. Officer spoke with subject about junk on property. The subject said they are planning to haul away this weekend.

-1:25PM. Officer received a complaint of a vehicle that was swerving within lane northbound on H Avenue from 270th. Officer stopped the vehicle in the 500 block of westbound 220th. The driver was not impaired.

-3:30PM. Officer received a complaint from an Ogden resident that she was being harassed via Facebook. The officer advised the subject to block the other individual.

-11:15PM. Officer was asked to check on a subject that was walking eastbound in the 500 block of 220th Street. The subject refused a ride and said that he would walk in the ditch.

-10:10AM. Officer spoke to a subject reference a property complaint.

-11:35AM. Officer investigated suspicious activity.

-2:35PM. Officer received a complaint of possible animal neglect.

-4:36PM. Officer responded to a residential burglary alarm at 207 SW 9th. It was a false alarm.

-7:14PM. Officer picked up a stray dog in the 100 block of E. Division St.

-8:16PM. Officer investigated suspicious activity in the 300 block of South 1st.

-4:00PM. Officer investigated a two vehicle accident in the 500 blk of NE 3rd St.

-7:32PM. Officer arrested Bradley Kleinwolterink, 36, of Boone in the 300 block of SW 2nd St. for alleged operating while intoxicated 2nd offense, open container, and driving on the wrong side of a two lane highway.

-10:10AM. Officer responded to a fire alarm at the Ogden High School. This was determined to be a false alarm.

-1:20PM. Officer called the Boone Area Humane Society to come and get a cat that was caught in a live trap.

-12:30PM. Officer received report of a central air unit being stolen from 425 NE 2nd Street.

-2:15PM. Officer received a complaint of parking on the street along SE 2nd Street due to the Bill Mullins Day Field Days.

-9:34PM. Officer responded to an intrusion alarm at Ogden Middle School. This was set off by school employees.

-9:40PM. Officer assisted Ogden First Responders and Boone County Ambulance at 114 W Sycamore Street.

-9:53PM. Officer responded to 201 W Elm in regards to a civil matter.

-5:12PM. Officer locked lower level of Leonard A Good Community Center for a subject who had placed keys in drop box before locking the doors.

Monday May 8, 2017

-3:0PM. Officer removed debris from the roadway in the 300 blk of E. Walnut St.

-3:48PM. Officer assisted a stranded motorist at 320 SW 2nd St.

-4:59PM Officer assisted a Boone Co. Deputy with a disabled vehicle at the intersection of 170th and D Avenue.

-6:32PM. Officer investigated a complaint of a reckless driver on 170th St. Officer was unable to locate.

 

Tuesday May 9, 2017

-8:58AM. Officer received a complaint of a resident that has not mowed his/her yard yet. The officer spoke with resident and they will get the lawn mowed.

-11:31AM. Officer received a school bus violation report. Officer cited Paul Millang, 53, of Ogden for alleged unsafe passing of a stopped school bus.

-5:29PM. Officer assisted subject locked out of vehicle.

-8:35AM. Officer received a report from the parent of a middle school child that his daughter had been assaulted while at school today. The officer spoke with all parties involved and both parents agreed that no charges need to be filed as long as this doesn’t happen again.

-10:02AM. Officer was asked to check on the welfare of a child. The child was fine.

-1:35PM. An Ogden resident reported a black 26” boys mountain bike was missing from residence.

-3:52PM. Officer assisted resident who was locked out of residence.

-7:18PM. Officer returned a key fob to owner. The fob was found outside of the Community Center on Sunday.

 

Thursday May 11, 2017

-5:03PM. Officer received a complaint of 2 male juveniles climbing the rock pile in the 200 block of N 1st on the Secondary Road Property and throwing rocks into the street and at cars. The officer spoke with the boys and advised them to stay off of the rock pile and to go home.

-10:00PM. Officer received a complaint of a possible fight in the 400 block of NE 2nd Street. This was a verbal argument between a resident at 402 NE 2nd arguing with a subject who was walking his dog passed her house and it caused her dogs to bark.

 

Friday May 12, 2017

-1:47PM. Ogden High School Principal reported that a student had made threats against another student. After searching gym bag a pocket knife was found. There were no charges filed, but the student is being dealt with according to Ogden High School Handbook.

-6:58PM. Officer received a complaint of a group of juveniles on the railroad tracks at the 1st Street Crossing. Officer was unable to locate anyone near the tracks.

 

Saturday May 13, 2017

-4:56AM. Officer responded to an intrusion alarm at the Howe Elementary School Building. Ogden officer and Ogden School Custodian found the building to be secured and no one was in or around the building.

-7:42AM. Officer assisted Ogden First Responders and Boone County Ambulance with an Ogden resident that had passed away during the night.

-8:41AM. Officer received a complaint of a dog that was tangled up in its tie out cable and had no food or water. The officer spoke with the owner of the dog and had the owner free the animal. The officer also informed the owner, the animal needs to be tied up in a tangle free environment and be provided food, water and shelter. The officer advised he would be stopping by periodically and checking that this items have been addressed.

-2:10PM. Officer received a complaint of a group of 4-5 juvenile boys riding a mini-bike on the Howe Elementary Grounds. The officer talked to a parent of boys that owned the mini-bike and advised to stay on their own property.

-7:37PM. Officer assisted Boone County Deputy with several intoxicated subjects at Don Williams Lake campground.

 

Sunday May 14, 2017

-12:35PM. Officer was asked to look for a black Dodge pickup that left the south side Caseys in Boone without pay for gas. The driver was possibly in route to Stratford. Ogden officer was unable to locate the vehicle.

Wanted: Pool Bus Supervisor

The City of Ogden Recreation Department is looking to fill the position of Pool Bus Supervisor. This seasonal position would be approximately 9 hours a week, for the months of June and July. Compensation is $8.50/hr. Must be 16 years old or older to apply. Applications available at City Hall and are due by May 30th. For more information call 515-275-2917 or email cityofogden@netins.net. Pool Bus

The City of Ogden, Boone County F.O.R.C.E. and Boone County Transportation are partnering together to offer free bus transportation from Ogden to the Boone City Pool this summer!

The Pool Bus ride is free of charge, however riders are responsible for any fees charged by the Boone Pool. The pool Bus will run on Monday, Wednesday and Friday during the months of June and July starting June 5th. The Pool Bus will leave Ogden City Hall at 1:00pm and return at 4:00pm A Supervisor will accompany bus riders to make sure that everyone who boards the bus returns safely.

Parents must fill out a waiver (link below) for each child that would like to ride the pool. Riders without a signed waiver on file will not be allowed to ride. For more information, contact Ogden City Hall at 275-2917 or cityofogden@netins.net

Police Report 5/01/17 – 5/07/17

Monday May 1, 2017

-7:25AM. Officer attempted to locate a vehicle south of Ogden on H Avenue that was reportedly driving recklessly. Officer was unable to locate the vehicle.

-3:02PM. Officer investigated harassment.

-6:03PM. Officer assisted a stranded motorist at 331 SW 7th St.

12:45PM Officer arrested Andrew Anderson, 40,at 619 W. Elm St. for an outstanding warrant.

 

Wednesday May 3, 2017

-8:10AM. Officer investigated a 2-vehicle accident in the parking lot at Howe Elementary School. Marlene Haberer, 65, of Ogden driving a 2005 Chrysler was involved in an accident with Brad DeShong, 26, of Ogden who was driving a 2005 Ford. There was approximately $2,000.00 damage to the Haberer vehicle and $1,500.00 damage to the DeShong vehicle. There were no charges filed as this occurred on private property.

-12:20PM. Officer responded to Ogden High School in regards to a student had made threatening remarks.

-1:15PM. Officer assisted subject who was washing her vehicle in the automatic car wash at south side car wash and the car wash dolly stopped in front of her vehicle and would not let her exit the vehicle and both doors were down. Officer notified the owner, who advised the officer to go get keys for maintenance room and push bottom to open the east door so subject could back out of the wash bay.

-5:48PM. Gene Miller reported theft of an air compressor and assorted tools from the bed of his truck while it was parked outside of his residence.

-3:30PM. A bicycle was found at Lincoln Prairie Park and was taken to the City Maintenance Shed.

-1:08PM. Officer responded to 620 W Walnut #3 in regards to a civil matter.

-3:25PM. Ogden resident reported they had lost a black carabiner key ring with 4 keys.

-7:21PM. Officer arrested Gary Riordan, 62, of Menlo, for alleged driving while revoked. Riordan was also cited for speed.

-6:30AM. Officer picked up two loose dogs in the 300 blk of sw 3rd st.

-9:20AM. Officer investigated a suspicious vehicle.

Ogden Legacy Business Assistance Grant

Ogden Legacy Business Assistance Grant

The purpose of the Ogden Legacy Business Assistance Grant program is to improve/expand existing businesses, attract new businesses, increase building values, and improve the general appearance of the downtown district.

Eligible projects include renovation or construction of an awning or a sign, construction, renovation, or improvement of a building storefront, demolition or cleanup of an existing building in the Ogden Business District.

The Ogden Legacy Business Assistance Grant program will pay fifty percent (50%) of the total qualifying project costs up to a maximum of $1,000 per project.
